All of us have friends that have parents that buy them new setups every year
brand new ARs
brand new Looks
brand new Fulltilts
i've never seen it necessary, as i take care of my skis and maintain rather than replace
My view: skis are like skateboard decks, its a matter of personal preference
i skate my decks well beyond razor tails, chips and warp
Last year i decided to set my old Armadas old Lines aside old K2s and get Salomon Threats
they did not last long........... clearly cheap skis are made to be replaced after 1 park season
I plan on buying some new Armadas and keeping them in my "lineup" for 5 years like the others

i will ski a pair of skis until they are almost completely unskiable. since i spend 95% of the time in the park, i need to replace my skis about every season.

When you pound your skis on ice landings, metal rails in weird angles, etc...obviously they break down quickly...also why warranty is void after hitting rails

Park skis generally last me a seaon but I park a lot. I've had my AR7's for a little over a year and the only damage they're got is two cracked edges underfoot from rails and some chips in the top sheet as well as as some base scrapes. Still got quite a bit of life left in them.
I ski in a snowdome so I constantly ski rails. I ski two - three times a week probably around 40 weeks a year (the other couple weeks of the year I go and ski an actual mountain). And I ski at least 3 hours each visit so I've probably spend at least 80 day skiing in a Snowdome, 80*3 hours = 240 hours then probably another 100+ hours skiing at mountains. So my AR7's have lasted around 340 hours (probably more).
All times are Eastern (-5)
