skodeo7I'm pretty sure Jon isn't losing any money on this at all, but I could be wrong. Yes, athletes and filmers do have to pay for their own transportation which is pricey but it was worth every penny.
While I know that Jon, JOI and JOSS (if it was to come back) are supported by big ass companies (Betsafe,Redbull, Audi etc.), I somehow think that it just isn't enough to cover all expenses. IMO it seems like Jon needs to put some financial efforts in the event, on top of all the massive organizing shit he has to be part of. Then again, I could be wrong and you could be in the right, we should propably just get the man himself to answer it (although I guess Jon is more than fed up with the questions about JOSS comeback) =)
Anyways: BRING JOSS BACK FOR CHRIST SAKE! WE ARE PRAYING FOR IT!
It would be so nice to see JOSS with present day level of riding.
A few ideas: We could have OG-teams (Jon himself, T-Hall, Jacob Wester etc etc) against modern day youngblood-teams (Tjäder, Oscar Wester, Torin etc.) OR Skier+snowboarder or ski vs. snowboard teams. The possibilities are endless, just MAKE IT HAPPEN PLEASE JON!

I think it's less about personal finance and more about the stress, vast amount of time and coordination it takes to make JOSS a success. I feel very blessed to have gotten the opportunity to participate in JOSS and meet Jon, who I looked up to extensively growing up. Jon is such an incredibly humble and genuinely nice person, it's refreshing when you meet someone you look up to and they are actually cool. He showed us a really fucking good time there and made us feel right at home in almost every conceivable way. It was really nice, especially as Team NS, we were complete noobs compared to the rest of the crew. It was comical.
He literally ran and drove around all day and night, everyday making sure everything was going smoothly with all the teams, if we needed Red Bull, water, lights or generators, Maxx (or even better, Broken) burgers he was there to help us out in one way or another. Him and Peter Sidebo coordinated it all (of course there was help from others too but they were the main guys). The pressure of having a successful event of that scale must take an incredibly huge toll on him and I wouldn't be surprised if the whole Team America debacle was the straw that broke the camel's back (pardon the cliché).
Peter also plays a massive role in making everything go smoothly too so I had to toss his name in there, guy is a fucking legend! I have no doubt in my mind that there will be another JOSS event at some point in the next 5 years. At least I hope so, such an incredible experience!
