Salomon STH 16 Steel

Anyone have experience with these vs. new STH 13's? Mainly wondering if they feel significantly heavier than the lower models.

They are great but weigh an absolute tonn. If you are considering the sth13 you don't need the sth16steel. It's a great binding but not needed by many as the sth16 is quite enough for most.

yeah that was my guess, I was considering stepping up to the 16 because my last 2 pairs of 12's/14's got really busted up and worn down after a couple seasons, always the plastic parts breaking.

Yea I'm over 6' and 185, plus skiing on the east coast, on that high impact

You will have the steels for the rest of your ski days. Otherwise, the STH16 is enough for most of us.

Bigups on the input. What about compared to the Fks18's as far as weight goes? I know rossi parts are harder to find/replace, but since we're talking about a metal binding the idea is that wouldn't need to happen.

These are the weights as stated by the manafacturer
FKS180 - 5lb 6oz (2550g, hope the conversion is right)
STH16 Steel - 6lb 4oz

STH 16: 1175g
STH 16 Steel: 1460g

The Steels are heavy but they last a long time.
