I really like skiing park, i also really like skiing pow. but there is more often a park then pow. I also dont own touring skis, or even pow skis. I ski a LOT more park than anything else. I am not ashamed.

In fact, if you could give me the choice between skiing a bit of pow at my home mountain, or skiing park on a good day at Breck. I would choose Breck.

In the past 4 or 5 seasons of skiing, I've been in the park maybe 10 times and never hit a single feature. I have absolutely no interest in it. I only come to NS because TGR is a bunch of old granola eating, pow skiing hippies.

I'm a park rat, more specifically a rail rat, but I love powder when there's some and enjoy skiing bumps once in a while, but there's nothing I like more than riding a good slushy park

NS is 14 years old. The days of it being park rat only are long gone. Especially now that everyone votes on the content, there's a relatively mixed bag that makes it up to the top.

I think its going a lot more like the direction of Snowboarding - there isn't such a distinction between a 'park rat' and a 'backcountry hippie'. Lots of snowboarders are simply snowboarders, and do a little bit of everything.

Really, we're all just skiers.

Pow skiing kinda sucks at flat resorts.

But Breck sucks in general, enjoy the lines bro.

I haven't skied colorado in a couple years.

But judging by the corny video they released it looks like a bunch of mellow bowl skiing, no thanks. Especially no thanks with a 45 minute wait time. Who knows, maybe it will be good if you guys get more than 250" lolz.

I ski between a resort the is somewhat technical and receives quite a bit of snow, AKA a lot of pow days, and Breck. I love both the park and skiing powder. But I do have to say I would rather ski a good day at Breck than powder anyday. Sorry NS, but I'm a mother fuckin' park rat.

Hahaha, so glad you pointed out that video. My landlord from the house I just moved out of is the snowboarder wearing FD Wear (he rides for them) at 0:37.

But that said, there's going to be some gnarly terrain in there. Just have to hope it gets covered this year. BUT, I've already gotten 2 days of skiing in so I'm not gunna complain too much.

Also, this thread went bananas.

I've never skied real pow because I'm from Minnesota.. but let me tell you, when there's a foot of powder on the runs they leave ungroomed, those runs are packed all day and the pow is just destroyed because everyone is having a blast and hitting that all day instead of the park.

Honestly, after Battling socked in weather, 5am starts, 8pm finishes, stuck sleds, broken sleds, pulling a trailer everywhere, retarded fuel bills, exhausting sled laps and packing a shit load of gear everywhere all winter, I begin to crave a day at lake Louise lapping park. Take a car because all your gear will fit, don't get to the hill till 10am, no need to pack a lunch, mint jumpline waiting for you that someone else built. relax on the chairride up and cold beers on the patio at the end of the day. Park is a wonderful thing.

I wish I was good at skiing pow but we only get 1-2 pow days per year in New York so no one really has much experience.
