Hello people. I purchased some nordica patrons 113mm skis, and now I need some bindings. I weigh aprox 140 pounds and growing. I'm an intermediate to expert skier and am looking to use these skis for powder(small drops, spins, butters, switch.etc) not really charging, groomers and maybe the occasional park lap. The two bindings I am looking at are the marker griffon demo, I like it because I can adjust the mounting point and my father could give the skis a go, also wont have to remount if I swap my boots. Also looking at tge Salomon sth2 wtr 13, I feel like this binding would last longer and offer better performance. Both are equal prices. What I really want to know is how good the hold and durability of demo griffons is.
I'm a Salomon whore so I'd obviously recommend the STH 13 WTR2s. They have a pretty wide adjustment range on the heel anyways, and I know that toe lugs can change quite a bit between manufacturers but I'd imagine if you bought new boots they'd remain within the Salomon's like 2cm adjustment range I think it is?
Plus they won't have the giant stack height and added parts that a demo binding would have. So they'll have more performance, and be more durable. Hopefully that helps man!
I agree with 94, get something like the STH2 13. I don't know how much shell sizes gain length through sizes, but if the Solly's have 2cm of adjustment, you could get up to 4 or 6 cm's depending if the holes overlap if you remount when your boots get too long for the mount.
