I've been pretty happy with my red impact shorts. Before you buy them make sure you have some extra room in your snow pants. I recommended a pair to another girl and she ended up not wearing them because she couldn't fit them under her expensive goretex northface pants. I don't blame her not wanting to ditch her nice pants, but it sucks that she spent the money on the shorts only to not use them.

Make certain you get the "total impact shorts" which is the upgraded version of the one you linked. The regular red impact shorts have smaller d3o side panels and zero d3o panels for the tailbone, they just use foam instead. You might also want to look at the POC's VPD shorts which uses a material similar to d3o only the shorts look like they might have better coverage.
