Rockered vs camber in the park

Ok guys here's the deal. I have a pair of Scott TW jibs and they are too stiff for me so I'm starting my search for a new park ski.
I have a ski for pow so I'm looking for a ski that will i almost exclusively ski park with, along with the occasional switch groomer tossed in there.
Im 6'1" 175-180 lbs, advanced skier, and want a ski that will hold up to park abuse. I ski at keystone so I hit everything from little rails to big booters
Heres where you guys come in. I see more and more companies making park skis with rocker. As of now, my favorite park ski that I have owned were the 11/12 ar7's and im thinking about buying a new pair of them, but im very curious about rocker in a park ski.
What are your guys opinions on the rocker in the park? Also, what are some skis similar to the ar7? Any advice will be rewarded with +k

Rocker is better for jibbing around as well as messing around on rails. I loooove rails, and since like to flow around, I find rocker a great optin. With camber, you are getting a stifferski in general, that will hold an amazing edge. They will feel more responsive but not as 'butery".

It's hardly noticeable. And you must have missed the part where OP said they were too stiff in the first place.


and OP, I haven't used rockered skis in the park but I imagine it only makes things easier. Although they may feel a little squirmy on large jump landings.

take a look at the armada pipe cleaner, the atomic punx, and atomic infamous

pipe cleaner- more less the same as ar7, just softer in the tip and tail and may not hold up as well in the rails area if you're really beating down hard. 84mm underfoot

punx- atomic's comp ski, slightly stiffer than the previous models, around the same stiffness as the ar7, but has just a little bit of park rocker. good durability. 84mm underfoot

infamous- atomic's more jib oriented park ski, early rise and super playful, may not hold up when hitting anything bigger than 60 footers, but, like i said, more of a jib ski. 86mm underfoot

Yeah I've looked at them and tried to see the rocker but it's basically non existent. Skis are stiff as 2x4s and I can't even think about buttering them

not to hate here but those skis arent very stiff. ive hand flexed the 184's and they were not super stiff for that size ski. what skis have you ridden in the past? If you think those are stiff then dont even consider AR7's or Pipecleaners.

So Ill add my 2 cents here.
I ride K2 Presses, they have no Camber to them. They are super duper fun and playful to ride on, but if you want to hit a 30 foot jump on them, you have a bit of a deathwish, they are super unstable at speed unless you have them leaned way over. They are however, stupid fun on rails.

at OP's size they arent completely different and if he thinks they are stiff then there is no way he should consider Those 2 Armada skis. Thats all im saying

the best park skis i ever had were the original 95 underfoot, almost flat camber, kung fujas. the lack of much camber at all got rid of any catchyness, contact points in tip and tail didnt have that way more grip than the rest of the ski feel, the ski was loose like a rocker ski. super easy to flex, load them up and pop, perfect for butters, and because they didnt have any dual camber shit or rocker, you had an extremely easy, predictable tip and tail that you always knew was there, you always had that platform to pop off and use.

anyway, ive had plenty of normal camber skis, and dual camber skis, and two rocker, flat underfoot skis. and i will say i like flat underfoot with rocker tip and tail better than dual camber for park. honestly, my hellbents absolutely killed it in the park. one of my favorite park skis easily.

dual camber skis always kill the advantage of rocker, it ruins the loose surfey feel you would get if it were flat underfoot. the contact points always feel akward, like theres a definite spot at the end of the camber zone in the tip and tail where most of your skis pressure goes, makes them feel wierd and catchy and unpredictable, and pop awkwardly.

so i say go for the flattest camber you can find, or rocker, flat underfoot. i just wish more people made skis like those.

I have a pair of ar7s from 2012, Scott's are definitely stiffer. Maybe they will soften up with a little more use. Anyone know of a ski with just a little bit of rocker, or a medium flex cambered ski? I'm not sure I want to give up the stability of a cambered ski
