Replying to Stabilizers other than steadicam/glidecams

So I just bought a t3i and I plan on buying a tokina 11-16mm for follow cams and I am also looking into a rig. Initially wanted the glidecam hd2000 but was turned of because I realized my friends who dont know much about cameras or filmaking would most likely struggle with a glidecam. What is a relatively cheap, stable rig that anybody could pick up and make pretty decent footy. It just needs to be smooth enough so its not super annoying. I was considering a fig rig like they use on the ltc. But Im open to suggestions. Thanks. Louis
