Drop Out of High School at 16 and move to Summit County

So i want to drop out of high school when im 16 and move out to summit county wit hone of my buddies who is 22 and has a full time job and said he is completly down with helping me... should i or shouldnt i? i dont care what you say actually its gonna happen

do what you want to with your life but think long term too.

do you want to eventually have a family? not have low paying jobs? a career, maybe? if the answer is yes, you should probably finish high school and do at least 2 years in college. the ski bum life is not sustainable and not desirable and it gets old quick.

if you're alright with working low pay jobs, always having financial stress, etc, go for it. it's your life and you only get to live it once so do what you really think you want to with it

actually, i've had to work for everything i have. pretty hard, too, but not as hard as you're going to have to work if you don't have a fucking high school diploma....

so what's gunna to happen if your "buddy" gets laid off? or has to move and cant afford to move you with him? you can't dependent on that everything is going to go the way you think it's going to happen. it's best to play it safe and tough it out for the next few years.

Hey just so you know this is a bad idea. When you say the 22 yo has a full time job, do you mean like 100k a year owns his own business so he can employ you type of thing, or 30k a year lives in a trailer with a couch to crash on. Remember that life goes on after 16, you gotta prepare for it.

Well after being homeless for a bit, I moved to California, and lived in the ghetto. After saving enough money ( 2 years) I went back to school.

WEll ya i would continue my highschool career out there, im not gonna completely just give up... Im gonna finish out there and continue on with my life. Im basically asking what a good highschool is in that city/area not trying to say "fuck school" but ya thats all i think everyday and all my teachers know

honestly OP, i did the same thing. I lived in missouri but I decided that I really needed to live in summit w/ my brother, he let me come and for the first couple of weeks, until i found a job, he bought me food and shit with his liftie money. now I work at the subway on main in breck and its great, i hope my full time hours don't interfere with skiing. also, I can't afford a lift ticket. Also, the cost of living here is so expensive I spend all my money on food and rent w/ my brother. I sold my skis so I could eat for another week. My computer is next. I wish i finished high school.

by far the most accuarte description of the ski bum life. OP do yourself a favor and ateast finish high school. Your WAYYYYY to young to make a life changing decision like this. People cant get jobs with college degrees, whos going to hire your dumbass? You heard it from this dude, he worked at a fucking subway that kinda sucks. Barely can buy lift tickets, etc. If you want to do this after high school is one thing but high school dropouts are the dumbest of the dumb.
