Experience with Marker Griffon Schizos?

I won a free pair of Ficher Gurus last May and have been thinking about what binding to get. I can't really afford multiple pairs of skis, so I end up using my skis all over the mountain, front and back, including the park. When I asked my local ski shop, the guy recommended these so I could switch the bindings on the fly. Does anyone else have experience with these?

while they are adjustable, they come with the added weight. i would really recommend just mounting the ski slightly forward from all mountain and be done with it. i like the idea of being able to slide it forward or back 30mm but how often would you really do that? I personally dont think its worth the added cost.

they're crap, the track system fails frequently, and they're just a mess. wouldn't recommend. just get bindings that wont break, mount them center, and you'll be fine.

They're fine. Ideal for your situation if you put them on a suitable ski. Go for it.

i wouldn't go with the schizo. go with the regular griffon and mount it halfway between center and traditional. you'll be fine

Although I have heard that marker fixed the schizo system, we stopped carrying them after their first iteration was causing our customers to come back in and tell us that their bindings were sliding forward mid run. As others have said they are heavier. Plus it's not like you are going to get to the top of the park, take your skis off, adjust your bindings, then go hit the features. I think it is much more practical to mount a pair of skis -2.5 from true center and just go for it.

I used them all last season. They did fix the issues with the originals years ago.
Honestly I think they are great. 6cm makes a big difference in the way a ski rides. Powder to park.
Keep a small screwdriver on you. Literally takes 1 minute to pop them off and move them. Or at lunch or something I'd you want to switch where you ski on the mountain in the afternoon. I did on mine a lot, because I like to ski "all mountain".
And the way they are designed is pretty sturdy IMO. The track system is basically the same as the heel piece on the regular griffons, just on front and back. The cable is not going to snap either.
Mine haven't moved once, and I weigh like 190, and ski hard. So IMO people just bash because they dislike marker and have some skewed opinions based on the first version.
Weight- they are kind of heavy, about the same as fks 180s. But the difference between the weights if most bindings really don't do much at all. We are talking ounces here, directly under foot almost.
Only bad thing is price. I picked up mine for $170 though, so worth it for me. Not many deals like that around though

Bingo. Most of the shit around the Schizo is from 2 reports from internet skiers who broke the first generation version by using it wrongly which has somehow translated into "they suck".
I'm 185lbs and have skied hard on the original 09/10 version (the "shitty" ones) with zero issues in about 70 days use.
For certain applications they're unnecessary, but they make a lot of sense for a situation like this guy is asking about.

I had a customer come in with bindings that I could move by shoving them back and forth. I have a feeling it was a lot more than two people, unless the two customers that I had with problems were the two that were posting on the Internet. As with everything in manufacturing, some may have the flaw and some may not, in this case, particularly if there are inconsistencies in the plastic in the wrong spot, boom you have a problem. But like I said, they did fix it, but I don't really think it is necessary.
