Chinon M42 lenses are notoriously bad - esp the wide angle versions. Even on crop where you don't get as much distortion by using the middle of the lens.
I mean, you'll probably get good results still, but it's maybe a 38mm lens on your camera regardless.
Ibreslly just wanna get a good lens for follow shots I just got my t2i and don't know much about the lenses so any lens that would be good for that would be awesome under 200$
it's not a wide angle, it's a fisheye, but i have the samyang/rokinon/opteka 8mm fisheye and i've found it quite sharp, and most of the reviews say the same thing. It was about 230 shipped off ebay
Seriously just wait until you have $500 and get the Tokina 11-16mm. Glass is your biggest investment when it come to gear so don't go cheap on it.
If you buy a lens for under $200, you're going to hate it a week after you get it. Then you'll decide you want the Tokina. You'll have to get together $500 more dollars, rather than just $300 more than you have now.
Though the 11-16 is fantastic, Honestly, you don't have to chunk down quite that much. You can save 200 and get the 12-24 f4 and achieve almost the exact same thing for 310-350. Yeah, so it's F4. If you're shooting skiing, you're stopping down to f8-f11 for the most part anyways. Maybe more if you're not shooting with a filter. On top of that, you get more range. I'm definitely picking one up myself. when I decide it's worth it.
I totally agree with that, you definitely wont stop lower than an f8 for skiing, and even if you did, f4 is enough. So in that case, you could go with the 12-24mm.
