Which college do you go to?

I thought I'd make a thread where people say which college they go to and what they like about it so there can be less "what college" threads. Plus half the info about one specific college in those threads is from people who don't even go to that school, or aren't even in college yet. So, what college do you go to, and give some other random info about it. (I'm guessing people mostly want to know what your grades have to be like to get in, how's the skiing, big or small school etc)

Northern Michigan University

Its small and homey, has some of the best mountain biking in the country within walking distance, 5 miles from to the nearest ski resort, or 1.5 hours for Mt. Bohemia for lake effect pow days. If you have to stay in the midwest/east you cant beat it

I wont deny it, our football team sucks currently. Last year was just GOD AWFUL, this year isn't good, but better than last year.

Still a great university to attend. Actually quite good for academics, so long as you have the discipline to not party 24/7 and bomb out. Also I guess we got ranked "Hottest in the Big 10" in terms of women, #1 party school by Princeton Review this year, and yada yada. However. The only skiing is a tiny hill like 2 and a half hours away. But there is a lot of corn around, if you like corn.

Completely agree. Haha we can just claim it since some review board said it though. And snap, I guess I just haven't driven to Sundown enough to know the actual time it takes.

you must be the 5th person in this thread to claim you go to the #1 party school. There are hundreds and hundreds of great party schools out there.. Who cares which is "#1"?

Thats the only reason I claim it. Do I care? No. But it's fun to say. Does this rank mean anything? Fuck no. But I guarantee if your school was up there, you'd say it all the time as would all the other students at the university.

So I'm deciding between University of Reno Nevada and Western Washington. What you guys think? And if you guys have first hand experience were do you recommend for living on campus?

As a prospective senior can someone give me a personal opinion on U of U, I visited and loved the campus and the academic school portion yet I didn't have much if a chance to interact with the student body much.

I go to Bates College in Lewiston Maine. Academically, its pretty hard to get into, but a step under the Ivies and top-tier (Amherst, Williams, Middlebury) NESCAC schools.

We're about 45 minutes from Sunday River, and an and 1:15 from Sugarloaf. Those two, along with Loon do a season pass for college kids with no blackout dates for ~350$, which is a steal. On any given weekend, you should have no trouble finding people to go ski with, although I will note that there isn't a huge park scene here, so if you're just looking to lap the park all day, expect to do it alone.

Overall I love the place, academics are great, I've truly met some awesome people there, and they really seem to be moving in the right direction(new president, well thought out campus expansion plans, emphasis on increased student interactions with Lewiston, ect.) Feel free to ask me any questions about it.
