Making brakes narrower/How wide is too wide?

So NS, I dun goofd and bought a pair of Rossi Axial2 120s with 120mm brakes for my park sticks that have a 85mm waist. Cutting to the chase: Would these get in my way significantly? If they will, which I assume will be the case, should I try to bend them? I know some bindings have more durable brakes than others, and I definitely do not want to break these. If bending isn't a good idea, should I trade them, or will they not be that much of a hassle? I know that most people are looking to upgrade from small to large brakes anyways so I don't know if that will be much of a problem.

You might be able to trade them with your shop, most shops are more willing to take your wide brakes for narrow brakes than they are to give you wide brakes (since sold separately the wider brakes are more expensive, but when sold with the bindings they're generally the same price, so you don't lose anything, but the shop gains a more expensive brake). It can't hurt to ask, otherwise you might have some dragging issues (especially when carving switch) with a 120mm brake on an 85mm waisted ski.

Buy these. Keep the 120s for when you go out west and switch to a powder ski.

Hm, thanks for the idea, I hadn't thought of trading them at a shop, and thanks for the abservations about carving switch.
As for 50Kal, I wish I could buy em, but those are not exactly in my budget if I am going to get new boots this year, but thanks for the link.

I wouldn't EVER use a 120 brake on a 98 waist... I always say no more than 10mm wider. I totally get the budget thing though, so you could always bend them. Ive seen people bend 90mm brakes to fit a fatter ski, so I don't see why you couldn't bend them smaller.

its a pretty common brake so your shop should trade it with you.

I have 100mm on my 85 waist and its fine. Anything above 15mm is getting sketch
