hey guys im looking for a ski that will last me my last 3 years of high school. im 15, 5' 9", and weigh 120 lbs. i ski 90% park when im in jersey but when i do head up north to okemo/stowe i like to rip some groomers and ski pow and trees. im an intermediate park rider who hits nothing bigger than a 55 footer and hits medium sized rails. im an advanced all mountain skiier who will ski pretty much any type of trees/backcountry. also, what size do yo think i should go with, based on my height and experience. 171 or 178? Thanks

The t-halls are probably the most durable of those.

Better to go bigger, than smaller, that's just my opinion. Just got 13 Chronics in 185 ( Im 6ft), my measuring tape was saying 182cm from tip to tail, so they measure a bit shorter. If I were You, I would get 178, from my previous experience - longer skis just fell better and are more stable than shorter ones, but it's all personal preference. Good luck

I've got a pair of THalls from 2 years ago that have over 120 days of hard riding on them. They have a few edge cracks and that's it. They held up insanely well.

hey man, so you still growing or have you stopped? A 178 may be too big at 120 lbs, I weigh about 180 and I ski that size. The chronic would be a good option for a all mountain twin over the ledge since the ledge is a symmetrical twin and narrower at the waist. 171 cm would be my suggestion

Definitely the 178s if you're going to use them for 3 years, and you're still growing.

5'9 160 . great in both, id say there would come a point where a boatload of pow would be too much for the chronic to handle, but unless ur hiking up to the top of MTN's out west, i doubt youll ever see pow these skiis cant handle

I'm getting the 173s. I think they would be perfect, even if I gain 40 pounds. Thanks for your help man

I got the 2013 171 chronics in 2012 and they are still holding up... I am around 5'9" and im 130lbs. I mounted them at dead center with fks 12's. I am also an intermediate rider and they seem to hold up great after 1 and a half seasons. Of course you will probably get some topsheet chipping because of the thin tip construction but they are quite durable all around. The rocker also makes them feel quite playful and helps you float over a few inches of fresh snow. I am sure you will enjoy them if you get them!
