1,140 inches of snow

Im sure most of you heard this, but Mt. Baker Ski Area in Washington reported 1,140 inches of snowfall for the 1998-99, anyone ski there that season? Must've been nuts, to bad that Baker is a more temperate mountain than some more inland places, cause the powerder would have been much lighter. But if you have any stories from that epic season, do tell.

yea that was the year they went like 30 days straight with at least 10+ inches a day. i heard that on the radio and that's all i know.

wasn't that the year they had el nino or something like that when it rains a lot and then when it gets to the mountains it just SNOWS like crazy

el nino makes the general temperature warmer, making less snow. But I skied it, and they had to dig trenches out for the chairlifts to run. It was RIDICULOUS. There was like no trees visible, anywhere. The snow was actually good shit too. BUt i wasn't exactly good enought then to really enjoy it.

^ yea the year after el nino was pretty good snow for us in colorado if i remember correctly.

i ski there.
that year they had to close the lifts for a few weeks because the chairs were dragging on the snow in a few places on pan dome and there was mad avalanche danger. theres lines on the chair poles that show the snowline from that year. next weekend ill take pics of it and post em here. (if anyone has pics feel free to save me the work)
