Homeless people and Hippies are not the same thing

I know a lot of hippies, most of them had trust funds, grow weed, one of them that im really close to got married in the 70's while tripping on acid, they live in homes, one of them owns a hostel, point is they are not homeless... Then i always here people complaining about homeless people and saying "those dirty hippies" they're just homeless, they might be hippies as well but still... not the same thing.

There's a homeless guy who lives in my town everyone calls him "huevo dave" because he wears short shorts all year round and his balls hand out.. Anyways he's dirty, crazy, and does a lot of drugs... but it doesn't make him a hippie...

Shit. The last time I went out hippy killing it was almost exclusively all homeless people. Now I feel pretty bad to know I could have taken out some innocents rather than those dirty stinking hippies.

Correct title, wrong on you definition:

Hippies can come in different types. Come to Nelson, BC and you can easily tell the difference. Some hippies are modern hippies. Extreme leftist people who often live simpler lifestyle, have low paying jobs, protests a lot and just hang around. On the other extreme, you have the moochers. These ones are living off handouts, live with their friends and generally are filthy with a single dread. Hippies are able to work, but rather bum off others.

Homeless are people who just cant afford to have housing. Most often, they have addiction problems or mental illnesses.

Why do you think hippies are hated so much?

They're just a bunch of spoiled and lazy pieces of shit. At least the homeless die off pretty quickly when winter comes around... all hippies do is retreat to their opium dens and complain about "the man" that's keeping them down by stealing their ambition and work ethic.

I live in a small hippie skier town... A lot of the people I'm close to are considered hippies. Apart from huevo, I do not know of any other homeless people.
