I just bought a pair of 169cm skis, and this season i rode 148cm skis. Will the transition be hard? Will it slow me down from learning stuff this year? is there anything i can do to make the transition feel like nothing? And lastly will doing flips that i did on 148's be harder on 169's? Sorry about all the questions.
last season i went from 141 to 155. It didnt felle difeerent. also you probably havent skied all summen so youll kinda have to "learn to ski again" anyways
youll be fine assuming both pairs were park skis. i made almost the exact same switch a few years ago (141s to 168s) and i was fine. youll notice a difference but it wont be too big and it might take a little bit to get 100% comfortable with doing flips but youll be fine after a day
well i did ski this summer at snowflex, and i tried my friends 166's for a run and it felt really awkward, i hit and urban rail and it felt very weird.
that might be a big transition, I'm switching from 150 to 161 and I'm thinking that It might be a hard transition, but most likely not. How tall are you?
Did you guys grow or something? If so, than dont worry about size difference. You get much stronger as you get older/taller and youll learn to like longer skis. take that with a grain of salt.
You probably wont turn on a dime anymore but you'll have more stability. I'm the same height as you and I ride 168's so I can personally say I love the size and I think it's perfect.
