Salomon Ultra thin freeski socks. I find smartwool socks to be too thick (even the "thin" ones). The thinner your socks are the better your boot response is.
Just wanted to add that thicker socks can actually make your feet colder because you have to tighten your boots more to get the same amount of control. Also you should not be using a sock to alleviate issues like shin bang or pressure points, that's a boot fit issue, see a boot fitter if you have pain or discomfort in your boots.
I've always been a fan of the Defeet Talon. Pretty minimalist so it doesn't interfere with how your boot fits, nice and comfy but also wont break the bank
i like thin socks too. im not sure what brand mine are, but they're super thin, like thinner than even normal socks. i dont think they make my feet cold at all and i lose a little connection with the thicker socks.
