term paper: sociology help

so i got this term paper, along with a million other things, and i just cant pick a fucking topic
someone wanna gimme a hand? heres the assignment:

Using social theory examine one of the following:

A. How and why specific social factors help create and sustain a social problem in a particular society.

• Example: What is the incidence of infants born with HIV in Poughkeepsie? What are that factors that account for and sustain this rate?


OR


B. Choose a society that is not fully accomplishing one of its social mandates. How does the society address the need? Why is the society failing to meet this need? :

• Example: How does Mexico provide for jobs and income for her people? What factors are supporting or impeding the accomplishment of this task?



id rather do the first one, but any ideas will help, i have a couple simple ones which i have NO idea how to turn into 10 pages, so ideas that may have some length would b greatly appreciated
