But I just remembered this song too. John's the man, it blows me away how he can make a song sound so sad without using words. If I remember right, this song was inspired by a close friend who used to tour with the Chili Peppers who recently passed away.

This was Gustav Mahler's last symphony which is his reflection upon his own life. The last movement is some of the heaviest, most depressing music ever written. The last few minutes of the last movement is Mahler's farewell to his still born child. Definitely some pretty heavy shit.
