whattup NS. bout that time of year again and im lookin for some new skis. im not sure what i want yet and would love some opinions. im lookin for somthing a little flexible, poppy and is gunna last and hold up. what do you guys think?
im about 140 and i ride park, want a bigger ski so i have more surface area therefore making me feel more comfortable landing jumps. i want more pop and better grip on rails. but i also wanna be able to ride some NH back country. i had chronics last year so i really had no control in powder.
you cant get the park performance you seem to want and get good pow performance, if you want both there is gonna have to be some sacrifice, either wider... less nimble in the park and heavier or a normal park ski and sacrifice your pow performance.
If you had last years chronic, which is 92 underfoot with tip and tail rocker, and felt like you had no control in powder, it's not the ski (unless that ski was woefully undersized). To tell you the truth the chronic sounds like the perfect ski for you, if you must go with a new ski that is fatter, I would look at the Armada Al Dente.
Check out the current edition chronic, it is a killer all mtn park ski, but if you really liked the super soft flex of the old chronic check out the al dente
