Skiing Colleges

Does anyone know any colleges with a freestyle ski team in California? Besides USC because that's really hard to get into.

There are quite a few in California with "ski clubs", as far as I have heard not many have actual ski "teams". Sierra Nevada isn't actually in California, but competes against the other California ski clubs in collegiate contests.

As president of the USC team, I gotta encourage you to at least take a look at applying here, but there are a plenty of SoCal schools with good clubs. Take a look at UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, or UCLA. They all have pretty solid teams and go up to Mammoth a lot. All the SoCal teams get together to party and compete up there, so it makes for a pretty epic winter. Also, Chapman, Loyola Marymont, and Claremont have active teams too. All depends on what you wanna study and which school fits you best!

Go to cal poly, the ski club is a bunch of drunks who just party all the time and go on one big trip a year which is pretty epic. 30 pack under everyone's seat on the bus, a different mountain each year, while I was there we went to steamboat and whistler. Plus you make friends who are always down to make the 6 hour trek to Tahoe and split a $40 hotel room for the weekend. All that being said, if you want to find a college that has a team you can compete on, check out UCSD, USC, UCLA, and sac state if I'm not mistaken. The only actual kick ass ski team that i am aware of is UNR (Nevada Reno).
