Watchin into the mind right now and it's epic. So far on par or better than all I can. Only about 20 minutes in and already the best film iv seen this year. It will be interesting to see how it compares to Valhalla. Anybody else seen it? Thoughts?

It's a bit weird so be prepared. Not the typical ski film which is exactly what I wanted. It had ill really discussing the movie and whether or not we liked the filming style. Personally I loved a break front eh typical way of doing things.

Hahahaha fair enough. Autocorrect kicks my ass. Loved that the movie made me think about what was going on. Also a few of my friends didn't really like the style so it really got us talking about the movie. Unlike some other movie from level 1 msp pbp etc that is awesome but exactly te same as the year before.

A friend bought it on itunes and we watched it a few hours ago. best movie iv seen in a while. more like a movie. some of the most epic lines iv ever seen thrown down and some really creative and a little bit funky stuff. this or valhalla will easily be my favorite film. from what iv heard valhalla is nuts also.

Good non ski movie, but not a good ski movie.

It was like Art of Flight without good tricks. Yes they had some crazy big mountain but they also have about 15 min total of eye shots. I walked out just past the half way point at IF3 to get Tim Hortons and know I made the right choice.

If you want a good drinking game watch this movie. Every time they have a close of someones eye you take a drink. Good luck and try not to die from alcohol poisoning.

Fantastic movie. Who was the guy in the hospital bed? Couldnt figure out which athlete. I loved the city segment once again, and the lines they skied were absolutely absurd. Such a good purchase

I know this will be a controversial post and I had to do it incognito as I work for one of the main sponsors of the film. After two years of hype coming into this film, I was completely blown away. I was blown away at this disturbing, soulless mess of camera gimmicks that went on for far too long and wasted 80 minutes of my life. It felt like an 80 minute opening segment. Seriously, did anyone have any emotional investment in the dude in the hospital. What the hell was that and what did it add to the film or skiing. I thought it was the goofiest attempt at a story I had ever seen. The guy spinning the wheel in Nepal, I get it. The eyeball shots, I get it. This film would work better to have 72 minutes cut out and be turned into an editors choice on Vimeo. Seriously, how many shots do we need to see of snow dissolving or appearing. I get it. The guys figured out how to do the shot that life cycles put out years ago. I got that from the trailer, but spare me seeing it 20 times in the movie. What was the point of the guy climbing the ice. Who was even in this movie and is it important to them and their careers to have been part of the graphics work disguised as a ski film. It seems like the camera guys took advantage of you to show off their filming gimmicks. This movie was about them and not you. This movie felt very greedy to me. I sincerely hope that the industry does not revere this as the future. This film does nothing to inspire someone to go ski. It did nothing for the locations and the athletes that worked on the film. It was repetitive and boring. By chapter 14, I was like, really, how many of these silly chapter markers can you drop. Into the mind is a selfish piece of crap. Seriously, though, what happened to the guy in the hospital, actually, I could care less. I never did care. There was no reason to care. It was a horrible attempt at making me care. I am surprised that my bosses spent so much money on this film so these guys could show off their lighting techniques and composition work.. I think we were taken advantage of. If you want to see the sport of skiing, where it takes place, and what athletes are pushing it, go somewhere else. If you want to see a gimmicky eyeball shots and post production, this is your film. I am just bummed that we do not support our athletes more and throw money at this thing, which really has nothing to do with our athletes.

The movie had an absurd production value that totally dominated the riding. Ski movies are about skiing, not about heli mounted cameras and special effects. ITM put skiing on the back burner. That's the reason why people are saying it's a great movie but not a great movie and I agree with them.

All I Can was better IMO. Every three seconds the camera shifted to some weird angle and a shot of an eye and that old man with the spinning thing. Even though the skiing in it was insane they never let you get a good look at it other than a couple of times. I'm pretty sure the guy who crashed and went to the hospital for the dumb story line was Call Pettit and it was getting old at the end. Overall they didn't show enough of the amazing skiing going on and just moved the camera angle every other second but it was still a pretty good movie.

i loved this movie. felt like i was in a trance for the whole thing. its more of a movie about skiing than a ski movie for sure. nothing really ground breaking. but the whistler seg, the half pipe seg everything i thought was really really well done. sure level 1 and pbr are going to have lots of skiing, but you might see one ground breaking shot or cool trick for the whole movie. i think this is a movie i could show my non skiers friends and they would enjoy. got me STOKED to go skiing.

The cinematography was amazing. The urban segment and closing segment were standouts to me. Definitely not ski porn though. It appealed to me much more as a filmer than as a skier.

Wow! Really interesting. Just going off of trailers I think I will like Valhalla more, if I am going to watch a non skiing ski movie I want it to be honest about its goals. Hope that makes sense, still stoked to see and decide on both this and Valhalla.

Just got out of the Whistler premiere, definitely a weird movie I had some weird feels after watching it, I really wanted to like it and I did quite enjoy it but it had a lot less skiing then wanted. Still a very sick movie though.

I like the fact it drew such vastly different opinions too. Everyone is thinking and talking about it. After watching partly cloudy I was almost bored and not stoked. I mean it was a sick movie but it was exactly the same. Sherpa could easily tone it down a bit and focus a bit more on the skiing side but I'm happy they did the same shit as everyone else.

Cinematography, editing/special effects and music were all top notch, but i agree not enough skiing for me. i felt like i was on a roller coaster watching it too. it gets like extremely intense and then super chill (shots of peoples eyes, mountains and that one old guy with the spinny thing). and then intense and then chill etc. it kinda put me off a bit. the ending with callum petit was pretty weird too. I liked All I Can more.

After watching it for the 3rd time, I still stand by my original post. It is not a typical ski film, nor do I believe it is supposed to be. IMO, it is more of an artistic movie that has skiing in it. Does that mean it is a bad movie? Hell no. It may not be appreciated by the masses here because it doesnt have "enough skiing", is to artsy, or has no park, but damn it was some fine filming and editing.

The sheer beauty of some of those shots was mind blowing. Ive watched it with non-skier friends and park only skiers and they admitted it was a beautiful movie. The skiing was sweet, but the geography was incredible. I dont know how many of you have been to Europe or seen mountains like the ones theyve shown, but man, it got me stoked to go out there this Christmas.

Anyways, my hangover is killing me and this requires way too much thinking.

TL;DR Buy it, dont expect a typical ski movie, but you will enjoy it. This is the kind of movie that non skier kids will watch and say I want to go ski.

Most incredible editing/filming. Puts you in the perfect mood to feel what different aspects of the sport really entail. And I agree it is way different, but it's a movie that ANYONE would enjoy, from all different perspectives this is the best ski movie to date hands down.

It had it's moments for me. I was really into the aboriginal part. There are some really good camera angles and shots that are mind blowing and really interesting (both skiing and filler wise) but the film as a whole wasn't that great.

The 15 minute or so intro was what all I can was- film porn/ planet earth. Too many cuts for my liking, it was ok during the filler but the jp/tom part was ruined for me just because of the amount of useless and incoherent cuts. It happens for other parts too, they just slipped my memory.

The end had way to many summer to snow transitional shots, the flip/ rotate transition had been done about 30 times by then and all of the gimmicks lost their magic. It ruins the skiing, because you just end up looking at the stupid transition the entire shot.

It does have awesome big mountain skiing so if that's your thing I'd get it. You just have to put up with a bunch of very pretty shots to get to it. This film would also be good to watch while high and with others.

This was hands down the best movie I've ever seen the whole movie made you fell like you were in a mushroom trip you couldn't get out of. The lines in the movie were ridiculous also, if you're debating whether to buy it or not, do it.
