Should I buy this car?

I'm trying to decide whether or not I should buy this car. The problems are it does not have
power steering and the o2 sensor needs to be drilled in. He wants $3,000 for it. Also this would be my first car. I took a ride in it today and it seemed pretty solid. What do you guys think?

The o2 sensor is basically car talk for saying "My ECU isnt reading my airflow right, my car is running lean and its about to blow up!"

Dont buy a boosted honda for your first car. Youll be walking more than you drive.

If you want to do it then do it. Just be prepared for something terrible to happen. Also, that is just too much power for a FWD car IMO

I don't think I would buy that car necessarily but it would be incredibly quick and fun to drive. I would prefer a boosted mx5 to that quite honestly, in terms of how much fun would be had.

I would not buy a modded civic. Yeah, they're nice reliable cars stock, but when some hack job, teenager douche starts taking shit apart, putting new aftermarket stuff on, and has minimal mechanical skills, you're gonna get a car that's gonna be loaded with problems down the road.

Also everyone and their mother is going to laugh at you driving a honda that looks like that. If you want something to ease you into the car scene (aka you want to buy something thats modded so your friends think youre cool), buy something thats low and slow. Learn to drive then get something with power.

well comparing anything to a probably decent turbod and stripped car can be difficult i guess but for a non turbo fwd car id IMO take a DSM over a civic hatch 4g63s are great 4 cylinders and are great tuner cars but i guess so is a civic

being as how i was in the same situation in the beginning of the summer i would advise against it. no back seat means you can only have one friend in the car at once. plus where the heck are you supposed to put your skis. honestly i would buy a low mileage late 90's subaru. thats what i got and im happy as a clam

summary: dont buy not worth it. buy something reasonable that can fit more than one passenger and a pair of skis

anyone who cares about car modifications are avid about keeping CAI and other things crazy clean

Probably has an ebay turbo kit, which are shit. So in conclusion this car with probably break. If you want a turbo car, Buy a stock civic and turbo it yourself or have a friend who knows what they're doing help you do it. Never buy a highly modded car unless you know the person personally and you know they know what they are doing. OR they have the receipts from a shop that has done it.

Spark notes: 5/10 might buy if it wasn't boosted

yes ebay turbo kits ive seen for my car run around $700-$1100 and looking for one on other sites a turbo housing alone is 1/3 of that and then theres the other stuff (intercoolers, gaskets, and other accessories) which will cost a lot more than the kit. OP if you can deal with the issues and make it better go for it if not dont

you can get decent cars for around 3k, i wouldnt drive that shit if you gave it to me.

I've done extensive research in Albany craigslist and I've seen this car pop up alot in the last ~6 months. Im not a fan, personally you'd be better off looking for a GSR. There are often ones for around 4500-5500, sometimes less if you're lucky

Also, terrible idea to buy a modded car for a first car or anything but a hobby car. Think expensive and frequent repairs. No telling how hard it was "handled" and what that has led to.

That interior is awfully not taken care of. Get a nice Subaru Outback, or something that will drive well in the snow. I guarantee there are multiple Subarus in that price range.
