this shit isn't on silk road. why would anyone order it when they could get heroin, morphine, oxy, etc. instead? the only reason this is even anything in russia is due to the lack of alternatives & the wide availability of codeine.

This is very false my good sir, i am russian and i have personally seen these effects. Though most of the users of this drug live in the rural parts of Russia, people that use this drug are former heroin users, but when the money runs out for heroin, these users turn to the skin rotting drug of krocodil. This drug is much cheaper than any others listed. The word in russian actually means crocodile, and the name comes from the effects that the drugs take on the skin, causing is to be harsh and scaly like on a crocodile.

sorry if i wasn't clear, but that's where i was going with that. correct me if i'm wrong, but you guys don't have methadone clinics or readily available bupe maintenance in russia, i.e. alternatives to dope? so when the money runs out, you can't just go to the clinic and get your medicine like you can in the states. instead, you've got codeine which is available OTC (unlike the states which requires a prescription) that you cook in to desomorphine...aka krokodil.

this will never become big in the states due to available alternatives, i.e. methadone & bupe, and the unavailability of codeine.

Yes this is very true.Very sad to see though as even hospitals in russia don't even have air conditioning. My dads friend busted his head open one time, when they went to the hospital his wires asked the doctor to have them fixed up good(with money benefits of course), well to that the doctor said he would grab a new needle.

It's much cheaper, and when it was first starting to cause problems in Russia I was under the impression that they were having trouble getting poppies from Afghanistan at that time. Thus, this crazy shit kicked off.

Now it's in the US? I can only imagine what's going to happen now.

true story. it's the byproducts of the synthesis that cause the necrosis of the skin. you aren't supposed to inject gasoline, phosphorus, etc. in to your veins. apparently it's bad for you? weird, i know.

and petey - itll never blow up in the USA. codeine is available otc in russia and is required to make desomorphine. it's not available without a prescription in the usa, making it not feasible..

Yerp. Not worth it to go out of the way to find codeine on the street then cook it up with the eye drops and shit. By the time its done its the same price as dope here. Time to hunt subs instead

or dope, or go to the done clinic, or any of the other options that won't rot your skin off. krocodil is one drug that i truly don't understand. i get the whole dope addiction, but i seriously don't get why anyone would choose a slow miserable death over a few days/weeks of dope sick.

Are you kidding me? These are poor, opiate addicted Russians living in the asshole of Siberia, It stands to reason that they probably don't give a shit whether they live or die. I know I wouldn't. Not to mention that withdrawal from desomorphine is a hundred times worse than any other opiate and sets in only a few hours after your last dose.

I've been told the drug itself isn't actually that bad for you, just the impurities from the synthesis. it's iodine or ammonia or something that's in the final product in high enough quantities to fuck your day up
