Had shoulder surgery on Monday for my right shoulder. 3 hour surgery, relocation of a piece of bone onto the socket and 2 titanium screws to hold it all together. Now to wait 3 months before doing anything.

Pussy.

I can't do anything that will "significantly raise my heart rate" for another month.

I was in a motocross accident 3 weeks ago.
Crashed on a 110ft triple, and then got landed on. I was unconscious for over 4 minutes.
4 completely broken ribs, 3 fractured vertebrae, bruised liver, lacerated kidney and a 1cm hole in my lung that's still about 5-6mm wide.

I was in ICU for 24 hours and the hospital for 3 days.

The guy in the ambulance was telling the driver to go faster and was ready to put a chest tube in and start AR because he said my lung was collapsed and he thought I was gonna be in serious trouble. While I'm laying strapped in right next to him. Scared the shit outa me.

Its mostly just due to the increased breathing due to a faster heart rate. They dont want me to breathe too fast or too heavily because I still have a hole in my lung and it will slow down the healing process and also allow air to escape.

My shoulder was killing me after walking for a bit and I went to the doctors and he said just walking made me breathe hard enough that I was taking in too much air and it was escaping and working it way into my shoulder socket and sticking.

I got the opposite problem. I'm supposed to breath heavier so I don't get ammonia since the nerve block from surgery can slow the diaphragm. How long before youre back on the bike?

Probably not around another 2 months.

They said I'm healing way faster than anyone expected but I still got pretty fucked up.

Its actually a Dunlop MX11.

The local shop I hang out at is the only place that they would have gotten it from. The owner identified it right away hahaha
I actually dont know who it was that hit me because I was knocked out so I could probably do some Sherlock Holmes shit and track him down.

I'm pretty sure you're bad luck Erica.
I never had to go to the ER before and since we hung out I've been twice.
I got in that accident and then I hit my head on a metal beam a month before and got 8 stitches

Broke my arm bad in May. The Italian doctors didn't fix it right so I had surgery once I moved back in august. 2 weeks left of recovery. I can post pics when not on mobile

broke my finger coming from my euro history class today. had to finish out my classes for today before being able to get it looked at.
just now after 4 hours am about it get it looked at. also 4 pages of notes with a probably broken finger is not fun.

got surgery for a torn labrum over the summer (mid june). No real freestyle allowed this winter, so I'm gonna be filming a lot. Full strength by this summer (1 year recovery).

Front board gone wrong, the deck came up and hit my in the face. 6 stitches just below my lip. doesn't hurt too bad, but lost a lot of blood! plus, stitches get bitches!

I had this in the spring 1.5 years ago. I skied hard all winter with it torn and not getting surgery wearing a brace. Had multiple dislocations during the season but the docs said I couldn't make it much worse. I was recovered by the fall to play collegiate level soccer. I wore the brace but didn't have to. I doubt it'll be a year for you

Chronic shoulder dislocations. I had surgery on my shoulder about year and a half ago and I still keep dislocating my shoulder. i'm on number 6 right now might have to get surgery for the second time. shits wack

Might have torn my ACL on Saturday. Getting an MRI today, so praying it's not that bad.

It has been 5 months since i shattered the left distal phalanx, distal interphalsngeal joint and middle phalanx in my index, middle and ring fingers. More surgery in 3 months, to graft bone into the distal interphalsngeal joint in the middle finger, and a insert a metal plate in the ring finger. Optimistic about getting back onto skis in early 2014/2015 after a full recovery.
