Best Way To Shoot an edit?

What do you guys think is the best way to shoot a season long edit of one person? Bring a camera (like a gopro or other action cam) every day to the mountain and just shoot when something interesting is happening or bring a nice dslr on select days with the sole purpose of filming... thoughts?

Also I'm kinda cheap so I don't wanna invest in a dslr but do you think it is a good idea to rent camera gear for like weekends and just film as much as you can to make good pro looking edits? Thanks,

You can have the nicest camera gear out but still end up with a shitty edit if you can't use it properly/can't edit.

Do you have a GoPro? Buy a GoPro. Get the most expensive one you can because that will make your edit better. Also use dubstep.

Use the song "radioactive" by imagine dragons, completely overdo the color correction, brighter colors = more pussy. Make sure every single shot is synced with the song, no matter what. Then just slap some twixtor on that bitch and your set. Also make sure you record in an extremely low framerate so the twixtor looks like wet paint is being smeared all over the screen during the slow motion. Totally trippy dude

Most likely you will need a ski. Maybe two. Then strap you're boots in with a peice of fine aged leather. You will need to do some rad maneuvers of the money booter/kicker and glide some of the slide bars. The snowboard park is a great place to find stunt features. Record these subterfuges with none other than the ti-84 plus silver edition graphing calculator. Get windows movie maker and use the song kickstart my heart or any song by kiss. If you put a full tilt in it you will win the no shin bang all afterbang award. Good luck. May the force be with you.

The coolest effect is where the frame does a 360. Make sure you use it with a sick banger like a 180. Other than that just record the same trick over a bunch of times as filler tricks so you can make a long enough edit to use Sail as your song

have nothing but POV gopro shots. Also be shure to have sail or radioactive as the song.

I think if you know how to film with a dslr and edit the footy correctly, then using one would be your best bet. Also, if you rent one every weekend, you're probably better off just buying one because you're going to rent one once and fall in love with it. You could just get a cheap camera like a Canon T3i or even a nikon coolpix p520 or whatever. As long as it has good quality, the camera doesn't really matter. GoPro's are pretty good, but when you edit with them, the quality is kind of sloppy and you have to change the sequence settings (which might not match the settings of a dslr). So if you are going to use a GoPro, use only a GoPro, and if you are going to use a dslr, use only a dslr. Hope this helped!
