How do you guys prepare your skis for winter? I just bought a new pair and i want to keep them in great condition.
I'm thinking
- wax well and leave excess wax on
- detune edges
- store in a dark and damp place

I would do all of the above except for the dark and damp place, keep them inside and a temperature regulated place with average humidity and you will be good to go!

Do not ever wax new skis before the factory wax is off otherwise you will have two layers of different wax which is bad for bases, remove wax or use them for a week and then wax =)

2. ski them

let your edges detune naturally, they WILL last longer.

make love to them every other night but be sure to slap them around a bit in the off day. tough love makes for tougher skis
