Inquiry about making advances in my bc arsenal

i want to get a working backcountry setup. i have some experience using beacons, probes, and shovels, and i plan on seeking more instruction from more experienced skiers who i will go with initially.

just a few questions about the gear i will need to have a safe experience.

i know i'll need a beacon, shovel, probe, and i'm planning on also getting some back armour anyway. am i missing any other essentials for the backpack? avalung?

i have a pair of bentchetlers from a few years ago mounted with marker jesters. would it be wise for me to upgrade to an AT binding on the same pair? would i be able to mount a pair of marker touring bindings in the same holes to avoid redrilling? and if i did need to redrill, what would it do to the integrity of my skis?

i'll obviously need skins as well. anyone know a good, reliable set that doesn't break the bank?

i might have more questions that i'll add later, but thanks ya'll hope snow starts falling soon wherever you are!

Get and/or buy and put in your pack:
Water Proof Matches or a fire starter
Dryer lint (great fire starter)
Gorilla tape
First aid kit
Zip ties (if you cant fix it with gorilla tape you can fit it with duck tape)
Multi tool
Water
Energy Bar (Kate's Real Food is the best)
Volie Strap (1 or 2, worst comes to worst people will think you heli ski)

I know this sounds like a lot but when the shit hits the fan you will be glad you have it.

bump, looking at alpine trekkers as a cheaper option to new touring bindings.

Trekker are heavy and they take space in your bag.
Buy some mfd alltime before that, sure they are heavy but they are sturdy. PLus I don't think you'll have to make new hole except for the plates

You might want a camel back too, along whit all the thing jstorrs listed.

For the skins, BD are good, the loop will fit the bent's. You can buy the G3, the clip are better for the fatter ski but they are more expensive. You have different type of skin, Nylon, mohair and the other I can't remember but that's the one I have, They are a mix of both. The nylon is heavier and bigger, but the are more durable. As for the mohair, they are litter and less durable. I can't remember which one glide more and the other pros/cons, but they are easy to find. Overall, I would suggest the Black diamond if you can find a pair for cheap, Buy the Sts btw.

Buy a good backpack that fit well whit 25L or more, you'll thank me later.

Seriously not worth the money, I got a pair last year thinking the same as i dont do much skinning (its more hike and ride here) 

But if you do more than 10 minutes skinning the trekkers have so much play in them.. the minute it gets steep or icy you'll be hating life as you watch your buddy with a duke or guardian sliding right past you no worries.  Ended up buying dukes at the end of the season... So much better.  MFD is also a good solution.

Alpine Trekkers are literally the shittiest piece of gear you could buy, well besides tele.
1. They raise you up three inches off your skis
2. They always break
3. They are make of cheap components.
4. Just sac up and go dynafit. You won't be sorry.

and few skills in the other
hope ya fill one fore the other runs out
dont recall much about accumulating an arsenal
but if you go that route
Atwater devolved the avalauncher
i'd get one of those bro
