They redesigned the whole line for 2013. After having the previous generation Jesters, I would probably veer towards the new design. My Jesters got real sketchy, so much play in the heel pieces both on the track and at the pivot point. The new design seems slightly beefier.

they will take a shit kicking before letting you down. just remember that the AFD doesn't move like on the regular Jester and Griffon. other than that, they're pretty much just a Jester with a tougher spring

For the money, I would get FKS/Pivots or STH16 before Jester Pros... but that's just me.

If I was going to pay full retail for any bindings on the market, it would be Jester Pros.

They redesigned it because they had to cover their asses. If I were you id get some fks, same design heel for 20+ years. If Iit aint broke dont fix it.

actually there has really been no significant change to the core Griffon/Jester design since it first came out. the "new" design was strictly for aesthetics.

What about the fact that the fks has a super narrow mounting position. That seems like it should be "fixed"

No I dont hate marker. I used to love the mrr they made, still have a mint pair on my gaper sticks. Moreover, I guess im a fan of high elasticity. To me thats what keeps me skiing. I ride at 9ish on the fks; markers and sollies I just cant stay Iin them at such a low din.
I just laugh that every year shit hss to be new and better, just so ppl will keep wanting new shit.

I like that Rossi didn't even bother with a new paint job this year. Give me a 18 or 15 and ill have that binding forever.

I've had the 2012 model on my pow skis for one season now and they've been solid as a rock, super beefy and no heel slop whatsoever (yet).

Wat. I'm just saying that as skis have widened, so have bindings so that you can have more control over the ski. It would make sense if they were to make a wider version of the fks

Well thats not the best news since the white jester from a few years back had a lot of issues with the toe piece.. (getting a lot of play in it)

what do you consider as a lot? i sold a ton of those bindings and never saw one come back with an issue. granted i sold most of them with new boot setups so they didn't get sloppy if your boot was still within acceptable DIN compliance. they did add the height adjustable afd for those with super worn boots.

FKS bindings seem skinny, but they have an extra wide AFD, and have great power transmission on wider skis.

Im no physicist but if a wide (110+) ski is designed for soft snow then why would you require additional force into the ski vs. A narrow (70-90) ski which is skied on hard snow.

Ultimately the on piste ski has greater forces exerted into it from the skier through the binding.

Jester Pro's are fucking bomb proof
I have had 2 pairs and I absolutely love them
They're not terribly heavy and they hold up great.
The metal in the toe piece is great, along with the non moving afd.
Only non A/T binding I would ever buy
