"ski bumming" need advice

Full story below, but to sum it up: What features would you want in your ski bum van to live for the winter?

About my season last year.
after 3 years off snow due to concussions and a blown out acl/meniscus I finally made my move to the west to live a dream of mine - to be a ski bum.

I started out in Tahoe then made my way through Idaho and Washington before making my final journey to Colorado. My biggest issue last year is that I had no car, and $200 to my name when I got to Tahoe, so I didn't live it up as much as I'd hoped.

This summer I've been busting my ass to get all the funds together to get a van to live in while I continue to live the dream.

As of now I will be buying a utility van to live out of. i will be building out the back with various storage features.. ski rack, boot rack, clothing storage, etc.

So NS what kind of stuff would you want in your ski bum van?

But actually a bed, stove, coffee pot and heater all seem necessary

Heat, Winter is cold and running your van all night to run your heater is a bad idea. Food, where to keep it and how to cook it. Parking, Most resorts aren't cool with overnight parking anymore. Bitches, "most" respectable girls aren't down with going back to some dudes stinky creeper van.

Parking is a good point.. though I plan to spend the first part of my season at Squaw where i can park in the employee lot. I plan to have a camping hammock as my bed so that i dont have a mattress taking up all my space/ store it easily. I plan to install insulation to help keep it warm. I also have a selk bag and some ridiculous down comforters. As for bitches.. that's what their house is for.. besides I'm there to ski.. not contract std's from the village bicycle :P

This guy's channel on YouTube is awesome for what you want. Or you can just watch every episode of Line Traveling Circus which is probably the most entertaining way to get stoked for being a ski bum.

Make a radiator with the slats which can plug into a cigarette lighter so you can dry gloves, socks, thermals etc

This. Except try to make it so that it runs off your AC so it can pull the poisture out of the air- if you just throw a heater on it, your van will be Guam in 3 hours.

Maybe mount a quality solar panel to the van roof and use it to charge a couple big batteries and run stuff off the batteries.

i was even thinking or rigging like a hose system to put into my liners that would run from one of my ac vents.. ideas have been great so far :)

Even better. OP, also get a box to put all dirty stuff in and every so often either wash them yourself or wash them somewhere . Make sure your ski stuff doesn't get your sleeping stuff wet either, you'll have a damp bed for days
