SLC to Denver, which way and what to do?

I'm going to be flying out to SLC in October to look at the U of U and then driving to Denver/Boulder to look at U of Denver and Boulder. Which route do you guys suggest? 80 through Wyoming or 70 over the Rockies?

Anything along either route that would be interesting/help break up the trip? We are going to be getting into SLC on a Friday night, visiting the U on Saturday  and then heading to CO for college visits on Tuesday, leaving Wednesday. So the Sunday and Monday are free for activities and such.

I 80 into WY...quickest

I 15 south, to I 70, next quickest.

I 80 to 40 then to I 70, about an hour slower, but you get to go though the middle of fucking no where...well, all routes are in the middle of no where...

I did i15 to 6 to I 70 a few weeks ago. Its not quite te shortest route, but it's a pretty scenic drive and then it drops you right by arches national park. You can make a detour to Moab too and that would be a cool place to spend some time. The I 70 through colorado is a pretty cool drive

That's a pussy trip no need to stop. Drove from NYC to SLC without stopping besides gas and gas station food

go US-40 through steamboat and summit county... drive over loveland pass if you aren't in a huge rush and want something more scenic

As said earlier, take US 40. Youll go through Heber city which is cool as fuck and if you really need a place to crash, I go to school at CNCC in Rangely, which is about 4 hours out of SLC and 5 from Denver. Its right off of 40 once you get in Colorado then you can take 64, You hit 13 south then go on 70 the rest of the way, which is an awesome drive.

i-80 is boring as fuck. I-70 has these crazy overpasses in canyons that are siiiick. worth the extra hour.

I'm between i70 and 40, leaning more towards 40. Don't mind driving more if its an interesting route.
