Installed magic lantern a few days ago on my t3i,trying to figure how/ if I can use the follow focus arrow function while shooting photos? I can't find a setting to turn off auto focus, and the follow focus only works when the lens is set to auto focus
you cant use it when taking pictures, also why would you want to. And yes it utilizes the auto focus motor to adjust focus. Only in a liveview scenario will it work.
I just want to be able to adjust the focus using the auto focus motor as opposed to the focus ring is all. You are able to have it live view and adjust the focus manually but as soon as you go to take a picture auto focus kicks in
I want manual focus. I don't want to have to use focus ring.
Keep in mind this is for photographs. It's easier to make fine adjustments with a button, I was playing around with it in live view and I really like that ability.
I was just trying to say that I don't really want to buy new equipment for this seemingly simple feature.
And I'm thinking colder weather, not have to take off gloves for fine tuning?
