Corey is a legend. For many, his Long Story Short segment remains one of the best in freeskiing history, and definitely pushed the limits of park and urban skiing at the time. After some glorious years in the late 2000's, Corey unfortunately suffers several injuries, which deprived us from seeing him in comps and movies as much as we would have wanted.



Corey spent his last summer coaching at Momentum, and sharing his passion and advice with youngsters, but also managef to film with Newschoolers' regular Zac "Downtofilm" Moxley.

When you first starting shredding hard - how was it ripping with the dynastar team?

Back in the day you guys pretty much had a dream team - rainville, downey, yourself, loic, adams, DC, (maybe 3 phils and mik d were before your time)

Do you think this was a major influence or pushed you a certain way with your riding to be able to shred with a team that probably had the best style in the game / best tricks?

Also, after the 2 major surgeries and being in Whis for the past 4+ years, do you think you'll find yourself establishing a competitive side again, or primarily produce good segments?

Last question - In my opinion, skiing around the session 1242 stage was the greatest change in our industry, style became a primary focus, and presses and other tricks were starting to fade in. Now I think skiing has lost a bit of direction again, with so many major competitions it seems riders are not tapping into newer or more snowboarder esk tricks (exception : stept crew, montage inc, etc)

What is your view on the skiing industry these days?

In Long Story Short when you were shiftying out all those spins, was that intentional? I heard that was just natural style, your way of controlling your spins and spotting your landings.

You are clearly driven to stay in skiing which is fucking awesome because the last few years have been sad without C-van. Where do you want to go next? Get a full segment with level one again? or are you working on any other projects?

How does it feel to have skiings Midas touch? did you ever think that the tricks you were doing would have such a huge impact years later (pretzels, and nosebutters off of jumps just as examples)? With that being said, whats the next trick on your horizon that were all gonna be shitting our pants over for the next 6 years?

After watching your summer edit, many of the comments were something along the lines of "what happened to the old vanular?" and "thats not the cory i know" or some similar bullshit. Do you think your style of skiing has changed much, or is the ski community just so fashion-focused that they cant see past tighter pants? If your skiing has changed, what were the influences behind that?
