Why do 90% of all female skiers have little to no style, they look so stiff (no homo) when they hit rails and jumps. Hope a girl can answer this question because it is basically all female skiers

Haha, you guys need to take a joke...

It's the same old story, there's just not a lot of girls that ski... we're perfectly capable of having style and being as close to guys in ability as other extreme sports (maybe not triples anytime soon), it's just there isn't as much to compare yourself against.

Maude's the gal to start it and everyone else will follow. Just you guys wait.

p.s. I wasn't blessed with a sweet rack either, so that can't be my excuse.

I think girls lack style for the same reason most guys lack style - they just aren't that great at skiing. Riders who are good generally have better style, because they've done the tricks so many times that they're second nature. Most girls aren't to that point.

I'm from PA, there are two decent girl skiers from my school and both havn'tt stepped foot in the park. So I guess I was being judgemental but that's just from my experience

theres an article i read few years back, forget if it was freeskier or powder but thats not the point. what I read was that womens wide hip displacement has allot to do with it, no f'cking clue how but thats what they were saying and it has to do with the limbic brain and the frontal cortex and dopemine... (I take psycology class). dopemine (A.K.A. natural pleasure) is enduced by.. taking high risks, sexual activity, loud music, drinking etc. if this dopemine gets pushed high enough it can block out other things in your brain saying no dont do it and it is harder for womens to increase to that level (ex. hooking up with a chick at a party trying to get laid and she says no.. her dopemine isn't pushed high enough therefore being able to control it). anyways so girls fully commiting to a trick is allot and trying to do it with a sick grab or a wierd position is to much concentration off trying not to get hurt, also going full tilt down a steep section, instead they ski it back seat.. reducing style points. I think I nailed it..

things are changing,

definitely a ton of up and coming girls with style and great tricks,

have some patience, think about how quickly style has exploded and developed in the last 5 years for mens skiing,

I can't imagine women's freestyle is that far behind with maude, devin, lisa, etc... killing it

if you compare yourself to guys, it actually makes things easier. a lot easier. i think saying "oh thats good for a girl" isnt a very good excuse. i only really ski with guys, and having them push you to a level that they are at actually makes you develop style as well as tricks a lot faster. imo thats kinda the problem with girls, no girls have style to the extent that guys do (with some exceptions) because if they are being compared to other girls, theres really no standards to develop style. And however there are some small differnces that may impact a girls style of skiing (hips, boobs, etc) there really is no reason why a girl cannot be as good as a guy. times will change though, its starting to mature very slowly but surely. Give it 5 years and things may be different.
