What do u guys think? *MOGUL SKIING QUESTION*

SO i COMPETE IN "A" level USSA mogul events and for this upcoming season I was looking into a new pair of mogul skis. I have a pair of Dynastar twister 168's that are just simply too small for me (5'9 135)and the tips on them is soft for my aggressiveness (ride on 9-10 din). So in the summer, I was storing all of my ski gear and came across some 1990(?) 180 K2 TR comp skis. they have white topsheet witth teal letters and teal base with white diecutts. I saw them and immediatly knew I found my gaper day sticks to say the least, but then I took a closer look at them and they are in great condidion and have a super nice pop and flext to them. I know im gona get hate from some of those assholes I compete with, but Im really not too worried about that. The skis seem like they will rip and thats what Im looking for. they have been drilled once, still have the binders on them. I would put some Look jib 14s on them. Do u think they would be fine to use? I mean I am going to use them unless somebody tells me about how shitty they are or something

I mean you should definitely try, but there is a chance that they have degraded over time. But if you like them, by all means use them. The worst that happens is you spend $30 on a mount for your gaper day sticks and have an excuse to buy fancy new ones.

Bumps are fun.

Yeah buddy, go for it.
As the guys said above, they may have degraded over time but it is worth a try. Tune them up and give them a good workout through the bumps and see how they work, could be the best skis you ever had.

Bumps are fun!

The tr comp was a mid- level recreational ski. If you want to ski it, I'd say why not......but I can't imagine them lasting too long. Even when they were new, everybody who skied bumps on any k2s from those years would always delam the tips. I swear by the end of January, everybody had duct tape wrapped on the tips. Kvc comps were the top skis those years. Tr comps were pretty much mom skis.

Well it depends on what kind of "comp" skis they are. Lots of old straight skis will be too stiff and cambered to be really fun in moguls IMO but if the flex and length feels good to you I say go for it.

That said you can probably find some used dragonslayers of F17s online for pretty cheap too. DOn't know what your budget is but it's worth a look!

i honestly dont even nkow if they are made for comps and thats kinda funny how u mentioned dragonslayers cuz thats what one of my coaches has and I got to take them for a trip and man are they awesome but they broke on his next run after i used them

if you've got some coin to spend i would seriously look at the Volkl Wall mogul. super tough construction and they tend to be more durable than the K2 244

ive tried them and I personally hate the flex on them. maybe its just because I dont have enough weight on me to use them effectively, but if i did want them, I could pick up last years for about 100
