I had a dream last night. I was skiing urban rails and doing 4s and 6s out. I lost my boots at somepoint. Then it was prom and I was at prom in ski boots and everyone thought I was weird. I was also "old" so that made me weird too.... but then I skied more and it was happy.
On a totally different note. back when I was in highschool (this was 13 - 10 years ago) I was really into snowboarding. I lived in Minnesota. I recall progressing more on stupid shit jumps we built on 20 foot hills and small rails more than I ever did at Buck Hill. I actually find a hand rail in a park less intimidating than one on the mountain. Probably because it's a pretty private venue, I don't feel like I need to get it on the first go. I imagine it's similar to a backyard setup.
That being said. I've never hit anything "urban" on skis. I have hit a box or two in friends yards or the preseason parks in the middle of nowhere forests, but those don't count.
So if someone wants to take me to do some urban, I'll totally come wearing a shit ton of pads under baggy cloths and hurl my body at pretty much whatever you tell me to. No one has invited me to do this though, so whatever.
Moral of the story: If you know a chick that skis... just start inviting her. Might take a few times before she is down to hit it even once, but show us the way! At a minimum you can have someone to hold a camera for an extra angle.
