Leviathan Gap?

Just went on a quick hiked up Grizzly Gulch today, and checked out the gaps. Found Chads and Pyramids Gap, but I'm wondering if I found Leviathan Gap as well. If so, this thing is nuts. I'll post more pics of the gap if this is correct.

That is not Leviathan. It is further up the hill, much closer to the ridge line. If you were to continue up the Grizzly trail, and then take the left fork in the trail after hiking through a granite chute portion of the trail, you'd walk right under the landing. Those are terrible directions, but it is roughly 400yds uphill of what you pictured

sounds exactly like leviathan... except that in the picture it looks about 40-80ft. shorter than the actual gap.

Yea that pic doesn't do it justice. This pic is taken from where you'd build the lip if you did decide to hit it. The landing would be the mound the girl is standing in front of

The amount of attention Grizzly Gulch gets is kind of scary. I know most NS folk have no idea how to get up there or if they do, they are not wondering much past Pyramid or Peps Cliffs.

But that being said, there is still plenty of spots to kill you there depending on snowpack and conditions.

Yes, this area is by far one of the easiest side country areas to get to in the Wasatch. And the NSers seem to flock here for jump building along with plenty of boarders.

I hate to be the one to say it, but it is a matter of time before something bad happens in here with the amount of traffic it gets.

This. I don't think that many people have ever hit it. I for sure haven't seen any footage within the last maybe 10 years? Would love to see a crew hit it again.

judging by the video it really does look like it. some of the trees don't match up, but that's 10 years ago so I wouldn't expect them to. the relief definitely seems to match though.

I guess it's impossible for a tree to get chopped down, or pushed over by a slide, or a tree to grow a few feet, or new trees to sprout. I mean, it is only 10 years (maybe more).

Yeah, trees get chopped down in that area all the time! Being a tree of that size, with many others like it around, it must be a slide path as well. As we all know, after 10 years, trees can become unrecognizable due to them growing so much and sometimes even "shifting" to different areas altogether!

Yes, that is it. The lip gets built on an outcropping of white rock above the mine tailings. The landing is the rightish side of the tailings if you are looking from the lip itself (Left side in the picture).

Yea that looks a bit more realistic. The one I thought was Leviathan looked suicidal haha. Then again, there are people with Mike Wilson's mentality/balls that would probably hit it

Exactly. things that look good in the summer are way different in the winter. The way snow fills in and changes things is crazy. It can turn steep landings into wastes of space and vice versa.
