Looking into getting one for my back yard set up, does anybody have any experience with them? Worth it not worth it?But anyways iI was wondering if they get you going enough to hit like a 20 to 30 ft jump. I have it set up in the yard but not sure if it will give enough... Might just have to make a winch. Lemmie know what you think.. thanks
A bungee wouldn't be ideal for a backyard set-up. It's hard to pull them back, so it would be a hassle to use for long sessions. For the price of bungee, you can make a nice drop-in.
inb4 that spammer for some other bungee company...
I've pulled both 10's and 20's. 20's are far superior.
The speed you'll need for a backyard jump will require 2-3 friends pulling back the bungee to get speed and would pull a 20fter out to 40+ ft. Bungee's require a lot more space than you'd think.
Thanks for the info, I have plenty of room in my yard for sure probably around 50-70 yards of open space before the jump. And I will most likely have about 4 people over at a time since we all share the stuff I just have the best yard for it. My yard is in simplest terms is a big down flat down so we were gonna have the jump on the flat and land on the down part. There was enough speed last from the first hill to land a 7 last year but the jump was really close to the second hill, this year we wanted to make it a bigger gap. Just not sure if I should go with a bungee for that or rig up a winch... The winch seems like it'd be a bit better for this one from what I'm hearing
I use a banshee for most of my off hill rail setups, they're awesome, i only have the 10ft, if you were to get one i would recommend the 20, its more money but it's totally worth it to give you that extra speed. No complaints about a bungee
Pro tip: get nine 20 foot long strands of surgical tube at you local home depot. Make three braids then braid those together. Its a whole lot cheaper and i have no idea if it will work
There have been rumors on NS about this. Pretty sad to see the company that revolutionized what boarders/skiers can do in the streets go out of business. Honestly, its a HUGE setback to the progression of that aspect of the sport if no suitable alternative takes its place. Winches are an option for the bigger crews, but what about the average skier?
Banshee must have had some kind of a patent on that design because if they didn't you would think there would be a ton of other companies out there trying to duplicate it. Kinda sucks because there doesn't appear to be anything on the market comparable to them. I guess its time to start getting creative now..
