Trying to figure out where to go since I get a two week winter break. I live just south of Rochester and I'd consider anything less than about 3 hours away. My home mountain is Bristol and right now the option I'm considering most is Holiday Valley. Trip will be in late December / early January and I'm looking for a nice park, but also a mountain with a lot of side trails / trails with cool shit to fuck around on.
HV is cool I guess, but it's really nothing special. The park or parks are decent depending on when you go. The main park generally has a decently sized kicker line and a fair amount of rails, but the park is all crammed onto one of the steepest runs on the mountain. But all in all it's nice. But if you don't consider it too far, I'd go to Whiteface instead.
Big Boulder is in the poconos. Not sure how far of a drive it would be but it has some of the best park I've ever had the pleasure to ride in. It's an hour and half from me and I still drive to it probably 8-10 times a winter... and I have a mountain 10 mins from my house.
