haha. because smart is the opposite of poor... I really hope you are not using god literally. There would be no point even trying to argue with someone irrational enough to believe in god.
if plants can grow then you can grow them and directly eat them. and feed more people. no one needs to rely on animals to survive. well maybe like traditional eskimos or some shit. 99% of the world doesn't need animals though.
You missed the part were I said Alberta. The province with 5.9 million cows. That is worth about $1.4 billion dollars to the economy. Those changes aren't happening anywhere around here.
Nowhere Saskatchewan has roughly 33 million acres of land dedicated to crops and was responsible for (2010):
61 per cent of the world's lentil exports
57 per cent of the world's pea exports
55 per cent of the world's flaxseed exports
34 per cent of the world's durum exports
34 per cent of the world's canola seed exports
40 per cent of the world's mustard exports
I wouldn't criticize nowhere Saskatchewan all that harshly.
never said saskatchewan wasn't important. just saying that all that food goes to cities around the world and the cultural shifts will happen in those cities. It's not like some hicks in saskatchewan are just gonna be like "oh man this is cruel. let's just stop selling those people meat"
Don't you think it's that simple? Believe it or not, a pretty solid chunk of this planet is not conducive to growing crops. Crappy soil, lack of water, extreme temperatures, etc. The ability to grow grass =/=
the ability to grow food. Scientists have been trying to figure out a way to get crops to grow in those places for years and years. I bet you'll complain about them being genetically modified when they figure something out even though it helps feed starving people. I'll also bet they'll keep drinking milk and eating meat when they can. Because it's delicious.
