I've seen some pretty big dudes killing it on skis. And honestly the easiest way to lose weight is to stop drinking soda, especially if you drink a lot. You start to feel a lot better in general too once you stop drinking it.

Drink only water. It sucks for the first week but eventually you'll start picking water over soda/juice.


I've went from 255 down to 220 and went from a 42 inch waste down to a 39 in the past 3 months from just watching what i eat, eating less of it and exercising.

It's hard work man but when you start seeing results you'll just want to keep on working harder

I actually did quit drinking soda 3 years ago and went from 160 to 140. But I raised back up in 2 years back upto 175. Thanks though. While I have you. What kind of snow pants do you have

Yeah because I should be about 175 (I'm not because I like food and am super lazy) and I'm 5'10". You should only be considering dropping weight if you're like 5'7" (maybe) or shorter

no this isn't true at all. 5'10" actually means you are considered "overweight" on the basic BMI chart. Obviously if you have more muscle than average you can be healthy at this weight though.

Which part? The part about me being 175? Because I can tell you my ideal weight is 175. BMI charts don't take into account how wide or skinny your natural body type is. BMI charts really are just a shitty way to calculate your healthy weight

obviously the healthiest thing you can do is eat well and exercise lots but you gotta be honest with yourself about the exercise. If you are really lazy or busy (like myself) then you might not be getting your daily exercise. So obviously the weight loss is gonna have to come from food.

First of all drink a lot of water. When you wake up the first thing you should do is pound back a big glass of water.

Also eat a shit ton of plants. Vegetables will make you full in WAY less calories than anything else. Like before you eat your dinner have a huge fucking bowl of salad and then at dinner make sure it's got a lot of vegetables. Also use lean protein likes lentils and beans.

Fruit can make you fat but its got so much good shit in it you should still eat it. Eat fruit with your breakfast and eat fruit for desert.

Eat way less rice and potatoes. Switch rice for quinoa.

Stop eating those "quick" processed foods. Make food in bulk and freeze it instead. Then you can't use the excuse that eating healthy is expensive or time-consuming. Just find some healthy recipes you like and take an hour to cook one or two each week. Eventually you will "overlap" so your freezer ends up with lots of different choices and you still only have to cook once a week.

Oh and you don't need to eat ANY dairy.

I mentioned that in my post. But it doesn't change the fact that an average amount of muscle at 5'10" and 175 will translate to an unhealthy body fat percentage.

Cold therapy. Walk outside in a t shirt and just a touque and gloves. Or take ice baths frequently.

Do you want to loose weight or loose fat?
At 5'9" and a buck seventy, I'd hardly call you overweight. I'm 5'10" 195lb, and more athletic than most.

Loose weight: cal in < cal out.
Loose fat: cut out sugar and carbs for a month. Eat a fuck ton of grass fed protein, milk, vegetables and more protein.

5'9" and 175 doesn't sound too bad to me, I know nothing on these things but I do know a bunch of people that outweigh you at 5'9" and aren't at all overweight in my opinion

I agree with everything you said except about dairy. If op is looking to put on some muscle, dairy is a pretty good source of protien and the right types of fat.

Stop eating carbohydrates entirely, and if you eat late evening/night snacks eat only protein because your body can process protein easier while you sleep. You will drop weight, and then go to the gym to gain strength.

I dunno. Either way, just like everyone has said before, eating healthy and exercising on a consistent basis are pretty important to losing weight.

It might just be me, but I started cutting down on the amount of bread, pasta, etc. that I ate and just ate more fruits and veggies, etc. instead and I went from 230 to 205 in about 5 weeks. And I'm a mogul skier so being 230 pounds is pretty stupid. Plus, beer/booze is like 40% of my diet when I'm out travelling and competing so that counts as carbs or something I guess.


Also, buy a bicycle and ride at least 5 or 10 miles every day. 205 to 195 is the hardest drop in weight I've had to make thus far and I'm down to 198 after 2 weeks of consistent cycling.

I don't know how people still ask this question. Eat right, and exercise. It's not fucking rocket science, i'm sorry but if you're asking people how to loose weight over the internet, get your fat ass off your computer and go do some pushups, sit ups, planks, ect.

Again, it's not rocket science, just get up and do it.
