Nope park boots do not really exist. The only things that alter between top level race boots and boots used for freestyle and freeride is usually the boot board. For example take a redster 120 add a soft boot board you have a high level park boot. Thinking that there are any other differences is just wrong really. Look at the ghost. It's what salomon are using as there park boot now, but its just a freeride boot based off the loosely off the Xmax which is also based off the race boots.
So don't worry about what the boot is marketed for, worry about how it fits and then make it work for park by changing the boot board if you need too.
there are still a few salomon riders on the apk but that is maninly due to them not recieving new boots yet. I fitted woodsy up for the ghost over a year ago and then bobby followed. The spk itself is actually in the process of changing to keep up with current trends in boot development. And regarding rear entry boots, the nature of a rear entry design means that the power transmission through the back of the boot can never be high enough for modern skiing.
Get the boots that fits and is proper for you foot and flex. I rode park always in 110+ flex boots. Big names are in boots around a 120 flex, granted 'flex' is a relative term from company to company. I would even think a lot of the FT pros are riding whatever boot they like with a 8 flex tongue in it.
yeah this is what I mean. there is more technology that goes into a boot than just how well it fits. I don't have a park boot myself because I couldn't find one that fit me at my local shop. If I could have found a boot with more padding all around (yes I but a rubber board in) I would have jumped on it. I think a racer needs the ultimate in power transfer but a park skier can sacrifice a bit of control for a bit more padding.
If any thing there is less tech that goes into them. The new spk is actually being based off the top level all mtn boot. I can't say to much about it yet, but it will be familiar in some ways but have much better all mtn performance and fit a much wider range of feet.
Overall park boots are just standard boots marketed for park. Any boot can be made to work in the park so getting something supposedly made for the park should not be a top priority.
My buddy has spks and loves them... Be advised tho his buckle broke which is kinda big.. But he loves them so much he keeps them.. He describes it as skiing on a cloud
