Snowboard Liners in Ski Boots?

Anyone have any experience putting snowboard liners in ski boots? My board liners are heat moulded and super comfy, my only concern is that they don't have a plastic shin bit so shin bang might be more of an issue?

Basically I want to know if I swap them out for the terrible liners I have in my ski boots.

just get properly fitting boots and insoles, and your boots will be perfectly comfortable

i feel like shinbang might be an issue overtime, if youre looking for warm heat-moldable liners, pick up a pair of intuition liners.

No reason you can't do it. A snowboard inner boot is just the same as a ski boot liner really. They will prob be a bit more upright and you will want to check the volume is about the same but yeah it could work fine.

I wanna hear from some of the boot tech guys, like that Pietrowski dude or that Atomic guy with the orange name. This sounds retarded, but maybe it did work.

When my intuitions packed out I ran some 32 liners for about a year.. I couldn't tell a difference. 32's liner is essentially an intuition with a power strap on the top of it. same material and thickness. I'd say if it's comfortable skiing go for it. And if it sucks you can always buy some intuitions.

Saloon used to years ago. But was discontinued as it just skied awfully. But like I said above snowboard liners are very similar so as long a the fit the volume of the shell they should be absolutely fine.

That's actually a lot like a touring boot, where you can take the liners out and use them as an indoor shoe (for inside mountain huts, definitely don't take them outside). You definitely can't use them as a snowboard.

No they actually are snowboard boots with a frame to allow them to be used in din compatible bindings. Not a great boot concept. Even with the frame they are way to soft

You can. It will likely stiffen your boot. Most snowboard liners are more substantial than most ski boot liners. Generally also more material. If you look at a comparable size narrow fit snowboard boot to a wide fit ski boot, te snowboard boot will generally be a cm wider or so. The difference in the plastic thickness will not make up for that. Stance could also be an issue.
So you could do it, but I don't see a huge reason to.

So long story, short.

I used to ski, but have snowboarded for the last couple of years, at the start of this season (southern hemisphere) I picked up some cheap park skis and boots and thought i'd give it a crack again. Turned out to be a lot of fun and I've probably skied more days than boarded this season.

I've heard the argument that I should just go out and buy good fitting boots, and I'll probably do that when I ave the money, but after spending a fair bit on new outerwear and board boots this year it wasn't really an option.

So in the short term I reckon this is a pretty good solution.

Definitely didn't stiffen my boots, if anything it made them more flexible since they liners were from park snowboard boots.
