Just saw a huge bad beat jackpot at the casino

Playing in the morning tournament, the cash game ($1/$2 no limit) next to me had a big bad beat jackpot. J J vs AK suited. Flop JJQ turn 7 river 10. All ins on the river. Quads vs royal. Payout was $150k to the bad beat, $75k to the winner and the table in the hand at the time split $50k. Dealer got tipped $12k om one hand with $1/$2 blinds. Was nasty and I wish I was playing that game.

jack jack, other guy had ace king. first 3 cars flopped were jack, jack, queen meaning he had 4 jacks then a 7 and a ten came up everyone went all in on the last card so one guy had 4 of a kind the other had a strait ace king queen ten making it a strait. guy with a 4 of a kind won, no idea how those pay out worked out but cool story bro.

i know some pro gamblers and their life is a dream

travel all over the world chasing women, pulling in 80k-120k a year by clicking some keys on their computer a few hours a week. so jelly.

Yeah sorry I typed in poker terminology. I guess I misread my audience a bit. I don't think there has been a bad beat jackpot since it opens flash years ah maybe. It resets to a $20k pot so that's how high it got. The dealer said he had a deal with four other dealers that they would split any money came their way from a bad beat table. He honored it too which was pretty cool of him.

Being a pro gambler is hard on your body. Nerves and never sleeping makes for frequent body break downs. I made a living on online poker for about two year until they shut it down. I was making about $1000 a week on average but it takes a lot of time and stress. I guess if I won a multimillion dollar tournament it would be less stressful. I just recently started to get back into poker small time and saw that jackpot and it made me want to play more.

yeah it's really gay that the feds shut down online gambling...my one close buddy had to move from his home in austin, texas to vancouver, BC just so he could continue gambling online. tough life, eh?

My uncle used to be one of the big professional gamblers in vegas. Spent 12-18 hours a day playing, would get comped a room, then would wake up the next morning and do it all again. The stress and lifestyle wasn't worth it after a while go as he gained a ton of weight, started having heart problems, and started dealing with emotional issues. He ended up quiting and now works as a sports betting cunsultant for football and makes bank. Literally he watches football all day and keeps track of stats, tells rich people who's gonna win and gets paid bank to do it.

Exactly what I'm talking about except he stopped and got out and did well. Most people never stop, go broke and have all of these issues plus debt. A sports consultant would be sweet as fuck!

My cousin lives this exact lifestyle. He's 21 years old, dropped out of college after a semester at Cal State, and has been playing poker for a living ever since. He's been from Mexico, to Canada, to now Las Vegas because of the legislature behind it. He most definitely lives the life though.

Crazy story.. however I hate when my buddies get back from casino and ramble on about hands. I think they make half the shit up because who can remember what everyone else had plus I can't follow the stories..

Yeah I am the same way for the most part. But there were balloons and pictures and like 50 put bosses, the whole poker room really stopped for a little while for it. It is hard not to remember that hand. I probably ramble to friends about hands and make honest mistakes (my head making it more bad ass than it was) but this one was truly bad ass and a large amount of money was won.

It's a casino wide jackpot. It had nothing to do with the pot. Almost all casinos offer bad beat bonuses or jackpots. I posted this because I had never seen one won and it was a really high payout. Just look at casino websites in their poker room and you will see there running bonuses and jackpots.

ya and a lot of them have high hand bonuses every hour or two and the highest hand in the room in the past 2 hrs gets like 10 or 20k, my buddy hit it once with a straight flush at mohegan sun

Thinking about it, there may have been a royal flush bonus involved. I have no idea.

Also, sorry for making the wrong assumption that casino lingo was a common thing. I think I should have been more descriptive to start.

I have a friend who was a dealer at a local racetrack/casino. Money was good, but the hours were messed up and some people would get really angry and abusive.

agree with u. It costs if u are strong person. My friend also couldn't do it.I can tell u about my experience with casinos.
