Stupid people at work.

So I work at a restaurant that serves sandwiches...

This old guy comes in and orders a BMT with american cheese (which is a bitch to separate) with extra bacon which takes longer to heat up.

It gets to me on the veggies and he orders everything but black olives with 3 sauces, so it's a monster sandwich which is impossible to fold and wrap up with out making a little bit of a mess. A tomato and a couple peppers fall out. He looks at me just pissed and say "No no no no, that's too messy, I'm not paying for it." I say that I can remake it for him and he agrees. So after I cut in front of 2 customers to re-make his BMT he gets to the end and looks at me and says, "You're lucky you have a job". I give him a smile and say "sorry for the wait, sir".

So my question is, have you ever had a customer you just wanted to say fuck off or use some other vulgar term to get even?

this one time this idiot lady ordered a vegan boca burger, which is nasty as shit. she comes back 10 minutes later complaining that the burger tasted like chemicals and she threw up-(she didnt) and that she didnt know they were vegan so she couldnt eat them and then complained for a while longer about how she was going to sue us for not telling her the burger was vegan. what a fucking dillweed

I work at a pizza farm (I cut the pizzas), and some lady had ordered like 5 pizzas to be picked up around 6:00.  She got there at six and a couple of her pizzas were still baking and she looked at me and said in a  very bitchy voice "oh, I didn't realize that 6:00 meant 6:05" then she gave me the meanest look and walked away (without her last 2 pizzas).

i work at a multi-media equipment checkout desk and this guy had checked out a big 9x12 foot projection screen. well when he came in to return it, he showed up to the desk and asked if someone could let him in the back, like through the loading bay of the universities huge library. we dont have access to that area and one of the bosses was in and was explaining that to this guy. well he didn't like it and started gettin all pissy saying thats not how to run business and blah blah.

so of course the boss looks at me and asked if i would help this short slightly overweight man WHEEL in this big projector screen. so of course we have to walk all the way around the damn building cuz he's parked out back and the whole time he is constantly bitching about the boss and saying thats super unprofessional and all this shit.

so as im nodding and smiling, we finally get to his car and i say,"would you like me to just take that in for you sir?" his face lit up so fast and his mood instantly changed and said,"why yes thank you young man blah blah that made my day bullshit bullshit bullshit!"

so i ended up wheeling the fucking thing all the way around the building because he couldn't park where normal people park just to bring it back to the place he got it from. i felt like saying, "why don't you not be so damn lazy and just wheel it down like everyone else has to do and it might help get rid of the keg you got for a belly" but i kept it to myself.

i used to lifeguard as well. those were some of the best times and everyday there was always a stupid person.

on our entrance we had a huge sign that said no refunds due to bad weather like lightning and stuff we would have to close the outdoor pool for, well that means if it looks dark and grey, dont fucking swim, but this one guy insisted he swim anyway and sure enough, two lightning strikes later, both indoor and outdoor pools were closed for safety. he raised hell while people were waiting for the storm to pass. he threw such a shit fit about not getting his money back and how our pool was such bullshit and we were ripping him off and blah blah. even after our managers told him and showed him that he knew we didn't give refunds. he was a piece of work

 One time some crazy bitch walks into my work, orders a pizza then walks out. 15 minutes later she comes in and starts screaming that we stole money from her because she "dropped her money and she cant find it." She then demands that we give her 20 bucks and a free pizza. I tell her to leave, she goes on screaming incoherently then throws her coffee at me, misses by miles, and takes off out the door. Manager calls the cops and she ended up spending the night in jail. Its great to see an asshole customer getting what they deserve.

I am a courtesy clerk at a grocery store and part of my job includes pushing cumbersome clusters of carts in from the cart bays. People will make eye contact with me, smile, maybe say hello as I try to organize the carts into neat lines, and just randomly toss the cart into the disorganized pile of carts. Just gets my jimmies rustled. Sure beats bagging groceries though if it is a nice cool day.

However, most of the people who come in to the store are pretty nice, there are a lot of people who will ask about how I'm doing and stuff. One lady even gave me a good tip and a big hug after I turned in her wallet that she left in the parking lot. However there are people who will really make you feel like shit, I had a lady come back in the store guns blazing and yell at me for making her drop her tomatoes because the bag ripped, a manufacturing defect.

Overall a great job and I would highly recommend it as a first job to anyone.

THIS so much. I work maintenance at a water park in the summer, and people are so, so, so dumb. They walk in when the sky is like black, winds are gusting hard, and then complain when we close for the day. Like, really dumbass, why would you pay to go into a waterpark if the sky looks like it's about to unleash the next great flood.

I can't even begin to explain the amount of stupidity I've encountered at that job. It makes me wonder how some of these people don't get themselves killed the minute they walk outside. I just don't understand how some people are so illogical.

I used to valet at a really nice hotel my sophomore year of college. It was terrible when it came to how people treated you but alright pay at times.

One night this huge drunk dude comes in with this huge F-350. I greet him, get his bags out, write the ticket and explain policy, his family checks in, and everything is fine and dandy. So I go to our booth, pool tips and count out one of the other valets, and then grab the keys for this dudes car. Soon as I start up the truck, I hear the door open, I look, and the guy grabs me and flings me to the ground. He starts saying,"Where the fuck you going bro? Gonna steal my shit? I'll fuckin kill you!"

I got away from him and explained to his drunk ass how I was valet. He immediately realized he fucked up, gave me $150, apologized profusely like a drunk idiot and went inside.

I worked at a cafe for a couple years, and a family comes in at like 8:58 when we close at 9. Even though were all tired and pissed that these guys are here we put on smiles and help them. The guy proceeds to tell my cashier that he doesn't like his tone, and when the guys family walks away, he stays back and says, "When you bring out our food you better sincerely apologize to my family and be polite, or I will come behind that counter and end your life." Our manager just kicked them out.

who the fuck says shit like that.

I used to work in retail at a store that sold home decorations. I hated that job, I would always come home smelling like fucking popuri. Anyway people always brought shit in to return and we had a pretty lenient return policy. Took just about everything back within 6 months with a receipt and almost always gave store credit for what the item was worth if the SKU rang up in our system.

Well one day this women comes in with a christmas snowglobe that looks old as fuck. She still has the original box it came in and hands it to be saying the product is defected and she wants a full refund but doesn't have a receipt. The Santa feel over in the snowglobe and shes pissed. I try to scan it and see that it doesn't even scan (barcode was so old it didn't register). She demands that I give her a refund and can't believe that our product is so poorly made, blah blah blah, shes bitching up a storm. I find on the box that it says 2003, it was 2012 at the time. I told her this was 9 years old and we cannot return it. She asks for my name and says she calling corporate, takes her snowglobe and goes home.

Then I always had people who would try and return lamps the same way. Shit would be 5-7 years old and they would try to return it. Never worked.

Worked at a winery this summer and I just did simple shit, I would take ID's of people and some people when I ask for their ID say "really? At the last winery they didn't ask me..." Like seriously I don't give a fuck, and then some women I don't ask for their ID because I can tell they are over 21. And it's so fucking obvious "Why don't they ask for my ID here, that's not good" I'm not the person to complain to, go bitch to someone else

For instance, I worked at the Cheesecake Factory as a hostess at one point. Everyone would always say "can we get a booth?" and I'd just smile and say "well if everyone got a booth we'd have half an empty restaurant now wouldn't we? hahaha, *chuckle/smile*-- let's see what we can do, shall we?"

I don't get how people get them selves to do that, okay if they want to pick up takeaway or something... But wanting sit there and eat? If a place close at 9 they should close at 9 and kick out people who think otherwise.

So, there was this lady who came into the cafe I worked at wanting a drink with a discount that was supposed to be on her phone. Like 25% off a $3 drink. The discount was phoney, so she's just waving her phone around yelling about how "this never happens at the other place I go" and the dude on cash is just being as sweet as possible to her, she continues with "just deal with it, okay? ... FUCK."


I'm just grabbing a coffee, not in uniform, not working - just watching, while waiting in line. Whatever, lady's a bitch. Then she goes to pick up her now FREE coffee, and the only thing she says to the barista is "Is this NONfat ?" Because she neglected to specify that she wanted her first to be discounted, now free beverage is to be NON fat, my buddy Mocha starts making it again.


I walked up beside her, looked over, and informed her "You are an awful person."

Ill be honest, working in a ski shop some of the worst customers are us new schoolers. The worst I had last season was this French Canadian kid. He came in asking for spk's in a 26. The kid was like 5'2 an about 13 so I knew there was no way he needed something that big. I sat him down measured him and he was a 23. I let him know this and told him I had nothing that small left. I recommended he go off to a differnt shop in town to see if they had anything. He came back 30min later with his dad kicking up a right fuss saying I had to sell him the 26 as that was what he had before. I tried to explain they were well to big but he can back with he was a freestyles so needed the extr room. His dad started complaining that his kid new what I wanted so in the end I just gave in, told them there was no chance at all they could return them for any reason and let them spend 400 bucks on a useless boot.

Now that does unfortunately happen quite a bit with people who go on here. Reading gear talk does not mean you know how to fit boots.

Now quite often you guys are awsome too, but do listen when given advice.

Welcome to food service.

It's unreal how many people turn into complete asshole when it comes to ordering food. After working at domino's dealing with people screaming into the phone at me and bitching because it took too long, I try a little harder to be nice to the people making my food. One of my biggest pet peeves is people who don't say please and thank you to someone waiting on them.

both my jobs I have to deal with stupid fucking customers. One job is at a boat rentals, and people are paying hundreds of dollars so they feel as if they can treat me however they feel. By the end of the day I'm exhausted from standing in the sun and dealing with demanding assholes, that I get told on for having to much "attitude". I'm really busy getting a boat set up for some customers, getting a tube for them and setting their children up with life vests. This other family is asking stupid questions like how deep the lake is, what kind of fish are in the lake, what's the speed limit on the lake. While I'm trying to get shit done and they call me rude for the one word answers. Sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm on mobile /endrant

I work in a brewery now and I have to give the tours. the worst thing I get is drunk people. not so bad... until one of them sticks their hand in a bucket of hot caustic and we have the fight club scene going on.

I was a life guard at a place with a wave pool. When the waves were on, 6 feet became like 10-12 feet and we had a lot of saves.

A ~6 year old girl was struggling to stay up with the waves and there wasn't anyone within 20 feet of her. I hopped in and we turned the waves off, and as I'm walking her up the shore her irate mother starts bitching at me (her mother was in the bathroom) that I'd embarrassed the girl and made her look like a shitty mom in front of everyone. Sorry I didn't let your child drown....

haha the best part about being a lifeguard was always dealing with the parents. at least we have about a thousand examples now of how not to deal with your kid at a pool/water park

When I worked in a retail/appliance store, we closed at 9:30 pm. Inevitably at 9:25 pm, someone would come in looking to buy a refrigerator, or stove, or any random large appliance. And since those salesman made commission, they'd make us wait it out.

Who is just sitting at home on a Friday night at 9 pm, and decides they need a new dryer right that second?


As for my current job...99% of the people are excellent and amazing. The other 1% I could write a book about.

I work at an eyewear store in an outlet mall. Our displays are set up so the prices for each pair are stickered onto the security sensors on the arms of the glasses. Every now and then, when the store gets busy, someone will come out of nowhere (nobody was helping them) wanting to buy a pair. They get rung up, and their total is $200 more "than what it says on the sensor." They get pissy, say we can't mismark our stuff, and storm out. I go to put the glasses back on the wall: the sticker with the right price is sitting on the shelf, next to a pair that is missing a sticker--you guessed it--that costs what the sticker on the ones I'm putting back says. Basically switching stickers while nobody is looking, as if we wouldn't realize it by the time we ring them up with a new pair.

We also have apparel, so it's a constant battle to keep all the shirts organized and folded. After finishing a table that had been obliterated by the 2:30 rush, my co-worker watches a 13-yr-old kid walk over, slide his hands under the tallest 2 stacks on the table (probably about 15-20 t-shirts in each stack) and throw them to the ground about 5 feet away. Kid's explanation: we didn't have his size. Co-worker asks what his size is. "XXXL tall." (we don't make anything larger than 2x)
Co-worker says "We don't sell little boy's dresses here. Get folding." Made the kid stay for a half hour re-folding the rest of the unfolded shirts in the store.

Working at a can return center, it's always the people that come in 5 minutes before closing time, or the people who will even come up to the door after we close and they start bitching. Every time I work a closing shift, there is a rush right before we close. Even if we get no customers all day, there will be 5 or 6 people that decide coming in 15 minutes before we close is the best time to come. People coming in right when we open with huge returns are a pain in the ass too. I don't blame the customer so much though. I just don't like counting 2000 cans first thing in the morning.

Shit, and people who have nasty-ass cans. I don't mind if a can of beer or soda is a little sticky, I understand that. But people coming in with bags of stuff that are more trash than returnables are horrible. There've been returns where I straight couldn't breathe because people were throwing half-filled chocolate milk containers in there. By the time they return it everything's moldy and messy as shit. The people returning the stuff won't be sympathetic at all, and wont even tip a few cents.

Thank god for customers who can handle finishing or dumping out their drink before returning it, and are still nice enough to tip well.

Working at the local hill you get your fair share of douche bags. Working on a friday night busy as all hell trying to get a late lesson started that i was already mad about because parents can never fucking register they're kids on time. Finally get all of the kids to the top and oh here comes my boss. A qaudtuple (what ever the fuck a group of 4 kids born at once is called) mom needs them at the bottom of the hill asap because they need chapstik. So i tell him well be down soon, apparently i took too long to get the kids down the hill and the mom rants for about 5 minutes until i tell her that she is just wasting everyone's time and she needs to go sit down and wait for the lesson to be over so she comes back "my husband will be here soon so you can deal with him". Oh great now i hae to finish this lesson and proceed to get bitched at by some rich prick when all i want to do is go send it in the park. Lessons over and i start to walk all these 4 fuckers over while the dad was waiting for me behind a wall. He says "are you the little punk ass who was giving my wife shit", "sir i can assure you i was acting more of an adult than your 45 year old wife was" he comes back "oh yea you fucking hotshot, thinking your cool talking back to adults i will buy you and your family, See that Mercedesover there it goes 0-60 in blah blah seconds and its got a custom tranny blah blah blah" me "im glad that Stanford taught douche bags like you how to read brouchers, have a good day sir. Then my boss came over and some more agressive words were excahnged. So i come into the instructorroom after my name is called on the radio and i thought fursure i was fucked. But i guess all the old men loved it that they can trust me now and dont have to worry about me /rant

That cart job is my job. That's what I do for 100% of the time I'm at work, mainly because I work for a huge ass grocery store. And I have 12 of those racks to tend to...I feel your pain man

I was bar-tending about a year ago and this guy comes in and asks if we still have $3 well drinks and I tell him yes and he orders a bloody Mary. I make him the drink and he brings it back and asks if I can make it stronger after he has already drank half of it so I take the drink and add a little bit more alcohol and a bit more bloody Mary mix. I give him his ticket and looks at me like I just murdered his family and marks through the price, which was like 5 something and writes $3 above it and writes 0.00 for the tip after I just gave him an extra shot in his drink for free. I also had these black people that were regulars that would always come in after the kitchen had closed and order food and I would have to go back and tell the cooks that had just finished cleaning everything to start the grill back up so they could have food and they would NEVER tip.
