So last year in late December, I tore my ACL and my lateral meniscus, my parents and I decided that being young and still having a lot of ski talent I would go through with surgery. I went under the knife on February 1st and started up PT a week later. I took PT super seriously up until about the end of the fourth month when family, work, and travel plans got in the way. I received by brace on August 1st and was supposed to head out to Hood on July 29th, but it didn't come in time. I was alright with that seeing as ski season is only a few months away and I was only missing a week of skiing. Up until about a week, things were going great and then my ACL graft failed. MRI confirmed that again I have a full tear of my ACL and significant damage to both of my meniscus's. I meet with my doctor this coming Monday to discuss more in detail and decide what my next step is from hear.
So NS, I am asking your opinion, I am 17 years young, missed out on last season and will miss out on this one if I go in for surgery again. Before you ask the question well if you get surgery now you can ski later in the year, right? The answer to that is no. the earliest surgery could be performed would be early October, leaving 6 months to heal (May) before I could ski again. Should I get the surgery, go through hell all over again, and miss out on a season? Or do I opt to not get surgery and try to ski super super mellow every other weekend or so? I need your help Dr. NS
And as promised, ass and titties!
