Taking lyrics out of a song

anyone got a nice method of doing this? I'm jonesin for some instrumental versions of a few songs.

With a standard mp3 there isn't an easy way to do this. Your best bet is to search for the instrumental on youtube.

You can use audacity but it's bloody hard.

just search for an instrumental or karaoke version

Karaoke songs (and the Audacity demo above) use comb filtering to remove lyrics and it sounds like butthole. Best you can hope for is to find an instrumental version somewhere, or just record an instrumental cover like a boss.
