So i am 5'9" and will be 21 soon and i have skied the same 166's the past 4 years. i want to get the omw's but i am not sure what size i should get, it is offered in a 170 and 177. Im on the east coast and i ski mostly park, unless theres powder than i will be in the trees. The biggest size it comes in is a 177, which makes me feel like it is for taller people. I also dont want the ski to be too short because im not sure if nordicas sizing is shorter than whats marked.(example Line skis usually run a little shorter than marked). Ive searched other threads for advice but i havent came across much. +k for help, thanks!
If you can, go to a shop and look at them, you'll get a better feel about which size after seeing them in person. Personally, I'd say you should go for the 177 though.
my problem is i live in Connecticut and ive called everyshop around and they all say they can order it but they dont carry it in stock. but thanks for the advice +k. do you think there would be a be a big difference in swing weight between the two sizes? like something that would effect switch ups?
Where in CT? I know Colorado Ski Shop will most likely have them in stock shortly, I think Suburban carries Nordica, but not positive (I'd be really surprised if they didn't to be honest considering their connection with Lupe). You're problem is that it's still early and shops around here haven't gotten their shipments in yet, hopefully within the next few weeks they'll get them. I'm pretty sure Lupe skis the 177 OMW and he's about your height, I don't think you'll notice that much of a difference between the two as far as swing weight goes, it might just take a couple runs to get used to (especially coming from a 166).
i also live in connecticut dude and my local shop alpine haus in weathers-field carrys the OMW if you want to give them a call and ask for eric they will hook you up, the reason i know they do is because i talk to those guys all the time and they already have them in stock or will be getting them soon
Im right near danbury and ive tried all ski hauses and pedigree in ny and 2 places in wilton. il deff give colorado and suburban ski shop a call and if they have them il probably make the trip to take a look
