High school ski club advice

I know there's a thread about this already but that was about a club in college and I think the rules would be different in high school. ...
I want to start a ski club and am wondering if amyone has had experience with it. I'm meeting with the principal to talk about it tomorrow. I've already talked to about 10 people who said they would join.
Do I need an advisor from the school to accompany us to the hill and can we take a school bus to the hill? Say we go once a week and leave after school, how would that work? Also, what are other details that need to be worked out?
Plus k for good anwers, and feel free to ask questions I didn't address. Thanks.

You would absolutely need to find a teacher/staff member to "sponsor" it. When you do this, the process becomes a lot simpler. You may want to consider calling/visiting you local hills to get prices for the various packages they offer clubs. Have no fear, there is usually a dedicated office or person for group sales at your mountain(s). How is your club going to travel from school and back? will you calling a local bus company or can you find a way for the district to swing it? If you have any questions, i can probably help you out. My parents have been running school ski clubs since the 80's.

I started my Highschools ski club back in the day. Yea you need to get a staff member to sponsor it and come on the trips. We organized bus's to take us to Tahoe twice a year (we lived 3+ hours away and it was sorta expensive) Besides that we organized to get groups to go watch ski movie premiers, held our own premiers, and basically just hung out. I would recommend marketing it as a ski and snowboard club, you'll get more members and more funding.
